The Pachig Room
My children are asleep so I’m sneaking in a little blog post. It’s the calm before the storm.
And most mornings are storms around here right now.
We are still very much adjusting to more structure and routine in our lives. It’s been tough for all of us. Lunches are being packed while simultaneously cooking breakfast. Threats are being made if somebody tries to pull out their art stuff when they’re supposed to be brushing their teeth. I’m yelling things like, “YOU BETTER TRY TO POOP BEFORE WE WALK OUT THAT DOOR.”
It’s all just new. And chaotic.
And Ankur hasn’t even started work yet!
And then shortly after he starts work, Riyu starts his pre-school co-op situation.
So it’ll probs be another two months ’til we are in somewhat of a groove.
It’s fine.
We’ll figure it out.
In other news, Riyu calls the “package room” the “pachig room” and it’s my favorite. He also says “bre-fixed” for breakfast. And “SOOKER SOAKER” for super soaker.
And when he is offering me some of his gemmy-gems and wants to ask me, “Which color do you want?” he actually says, “Which color that you wanna pick?”
Man.
Some moments I really do wanna fast forward the parts where he’s screaming, “BAD MAMA.” And “I’m going to pick up a really dangerous thing and throw it at you” or “I’m going to pick up a big stick and hit you with it!” But then some of the other moments, it’s so good. It’s SOOOOOO GOOD. He’s just so freaking funny. And expressive. And like really really really cool. Until he’s not. And then he’s cool again. And then he’s not. And wow, it’s a rollercoaster.
Anyway, just typing this all out was 5 minutes of my life that I COULD HAVE BEEN MAKING LUNCH SO I GOTTA GO BECAUSE MY BOSS AND MY MANAGER ARE GONNA WAKE UP AND I CAN’T BE MESSING AROUND DOING THINGS LIKE BLOGGING.
BYEEEEE, HAPPY FRIDAY.
