Quit All The Things

Hello from the Bay Area again!

This week has gone by super fast. I guess that’s what happens when you take Monday off and we have no kids on Thursday and Friday because of parent conferences.

Parent conferences are always my favorite. Because I don’t have a ton of students on my caseload, I am able to set aside a longer block of time to talk to each parent about how much I love their child. I know the classroom teachers wish they had more time to dive into conversation, but they are limited to 15-20 minute blocks because they’re meeting with up to 60 parents.

In other news:

  • Thanks to a super mom who is concerned that her child eats wine for dinner, my meals have been wonderful this week:

  • So glad these are in season right now. Delish.

  • Also loving that red cups are back in season. And I disagree with everyone who claims that it’s too early to be celebrating. I’m wearing a coat when I walk into work. That means it’s time for red cups.

Probably should have dressed my nephew up in this for Halloween:

  • I quit doing all the things. A few months ago, I signed up for all the gyms thinking that by having access everywhere, I’d have no excuse but to work out after work. I signed up for a bootcamp class near my apartment. I also signed up for a new gym membership right next door to work. All while keeping the 24 hour fitness membership I already had. Turns out when I have too many options, I do none of them. So I quit all the things. Except for 24. Go team.
  • I started running again. Sister clearly inspired me. And with the time change, I have 30-45 minutes in the morning for a quick run now that it’s a bit light out before I leave for work! 🙂

  • Now I’m having all the wine.

Good night! 🙂

  • Starbucks red cups? Yay or nay?

  • Do you prefer sun earlier in the AM or lighter out when you leave work?

      1. I’ll drink a super nice brew – it’s become big in ATL. A few place host coffee tastings! But in genral, I just don’t love a casual cup. I’m sure it doesn’t help that I don’t like sweet drinks, so it has to be good enough to drink black.

  1. I’m the same way when I have too many options. I always decide on NONE of them, haha. For real, tell me I can pick the restaurant we go to and I assure you we won’t go eat for hours. Life is hard. 😉

  2. Forgive me but I’m not a Starbucks fan and couldn’t care less about cups. But I do adore the costume and I do appreciate some earlier daylight.

  3. Oh my goodness, that starbucks costume is so cute. Frankly, I hadn’t even noticed that the cups were red. But I’m not ready for Christmas yet. And it’s not very cool here yet either (high of about 85 yesterday). I do love the time change though. Always have been a morning person and I too appreciated the extra light in the a.m.

  4. Since I work late anyway, I definitely prefer the morning light. I like your explanation that coat weather = red cup season. I can live with that. Just don’t start playing Christmas music yet.

  5. I love the red cups, and I almost never go to Starbucks! I like that some places start the holidays early, and some take their time. We can ease into the season with little hints here and there and it gets me all excited–but there’s no stress or pressure because it’s still early!
