I got tagged! Abby over at Back At Square Zero and Laura at Spicing Up My Life tagged me with the “Liebster Award,” which is:
“……given to upcoming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome.” Why, yes. I am all these things.
The rules for receiving this award:
1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2. Then answer the questions the tagger sent for them, plus create 11 questions for the people they’ve tagged to answer.
2. Then answer the questions the tagger sent for them, plus create 11 questions for the people they’ve tagged to answer.
3. Choose 11 people and link them in your post.
4. Notify the people you have tagged.
5. No tag backs.
So, I’ve answered 11 questions (some from Abby, some from Laura):
Ready, set, go, bro.
1) Why did you start blogging?
Take a peek at my very first entry. Those reasons still hold true. I started this blog shortly after I moved out of my apartment in Los Angeles. After going through all of my boxes, worksheets, binders, bookshelves, etc., I realized something. Moments that I thought I’d remember forever….details that I thought I’d never forget….I forgot. The saying holds true:
I hold so many moments near and dear to my heart. Feelings remain. But I want more. I want something that I can come back to some day and relive…maybe not in its entirety…but to some degree. I want to be able to look back at my life when I’m 80 and remember the time I trained for my very first half marathon, remember every detail of my first day as a teacher, remember all the delicious foods I used to eat. That’s why I blog. Because I want to reflect and appreciate the now, but also be able to reflect and appreciate 60 years from now.
2) What has been your favorite part of the experience so far?
In addition to having a place to reflect, I think my favorite experience has been the incredible network of people I’ve encountered through blogging. Ever since I started EatTeachBlog, I’ve “met” such an amazing group of people. I’ve found a place of support. I’ve found people to laugh with. People to connect with – in so many ways. It’s pretty remarkable how much you feel a part of someone’s life. And how comfortable I’ve become in sharing my own.
3) What are you most looking forward to right now?
Moving up north!
4) If you could rewind your life, what is one thing you would do differently?
Would have taken advantage of the amazing salad bar at UCLA instead of opting for some cheese-covered fries. 🙂 <—–(or late-night Puzzles: “Can I Have an order of curly cheese fries with a side of curly fries?”).
5) What is your favorite quote?
“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, we must teach the way they learn.”
6) How did your life turn out differently than you expected?
Please refer to this post 🙂
7) If you could only watch one TV show a week what would it be?
Probably something like X-Factor or The Voice – I end up in tears during every episode. It’s just crazy to see how talented so many people are. And how driven and determined they are to follow their dreams.
8) Where is your dream vacation?
Probably Bali. Relaxing and beautiful.
9) What is one goal you are currently working towards?
My very first half marathon! October 7th! 🙂
10) Do you have any children or fur babies?
No. And no. I’m allergic to fur. And maybe children.
11) Favorite ice cream or fro-yo flavor?
Ice Cream: Cookies and Cream
Fro-Yo: Plain Tart from Yogurtland
