Happy Friday!
Just got done with our book club meeting and, instead of cleaning up my kitchen, I thought I’d post some fun facts from this week.
The kitchen can wait until tomorrow morning.
1) Our book club discussion centered primarily around WORK and not the book at all. In our defense, the book was terrible and we were so glad to vote on another one. My friend/co-worker, Tessa, got to the last 20 pages of the book and had no motivation to finish. Which is pretty telling.
2) We voted on our new book:
The majority of us wanted to read Goldfynch (or Goldfish, if your name is Brianna!). It’s REALLY long but I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews so I’m excited. Plus, we aren’t meeting up again until the first week of August so we have plenty of time to read!
3) Tomorrow is my last IEP of the school year! I can’t believe how quickly this year is wrapping up.
4) I finally got my wine passport in the mail!
Ready to drink my way through the Santa Cruz mountains! 🙂 We were actually contemplating having our next book club meeting at one of the participating wineries.
5) I’ve been putting avocado on everything and anything.
I love being stocked with avocados to last me through the week!
6) Most of my friends/family know this, but I haven’t posted about it yet because I’ve been feeling pretty upset/guilty about my decision. Last weekend, I was supposed to run the San Diego R&R Half Marathon, but due to a number of factors, I decided against it. Obviously that’s not the fun fact part.
This weekend, I’ll be registering with Team in Training to prepare for the Nike Half in October. I think that training with a group and having people hold me accountable for my training runs will be really helpful. With this new clean eating kick, I realize that the reason I’ve been so successful with it [for the most part] is because I have someone to check in with and troubleshoot problems or potential pitfalls with. Maybe some day I’ll be able to train independently, but for right now, I know that this is what I need in order to be successful.
My next intelligent move will be going to BED so I’m not grumpypants in the morning.
Hope you all have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Avocados make everything better….so does wine! We should meet up in Livermore this summer and hit some of the wineries there. I think that’s a middle ground for the both of us. 🙂

Avocados are pure awesomeness! I saw an episode with Bear Grylls on tv where he talked about how nutritious they are, and how much good fat there is in them.
Great quote from Henry Ford!
