Happy Friday! I’m currently blogging from the airport, waiting to catch my flight to SoCal. The anxiety is definitely creeping in but I’m trying to keep it under control by distracting myself. It doesn’t help that I left work early today with a lot of unfinished tasks. So, I’m sitting here with several tabs open in my browser and e-mail drafts that I’ve started and haven’t finished. I just need to put it all away for right now and I can revisit it tomorrow!
Right now, I’m going to focus on getting to Orange County without having a panic attack. Today is Greg’s law school graduation and, the minute the plane touches SoCal grounds, I’m turning on celebration mode. I’ll be joining some of his friends and family for the actual ceremony and then off to eat at El Cholo for dinner. It’s been years since I’ve been there! It’s also a very special day (which I’ll get to later on in this post!) for some other lovely people in my life. And then Sunday is Conor’s wedding where I will be reunited with some of my favorites. Cannot. Wait.
Now on to your regularly scheduled post:
1) This week’s been Spirit Week at our school. All the kids have looked so. freaking. adorable. all week long. It’s so fun to see them out of their typical uniform – I forget how teeny they really are.
2) On Wednesday, I got three packages in the mail. A spiralizer, a food scale, and some multi-vitamins. Am I cool or what?
3) A few weeks ago, I went out to dinner with Chandana and Patricija, some friends from SAA and UniCamp at UCLA. We spent some time chatting about JOMO and how we’re all victims of the ‘disorder.’ Patricija sent this to me and I could NOT stop laughing.
The story of my life.
4) Last night, we had a Ladies Dinner, which was very much needed after this LONG week of work. Not gonna lie – we talked about work for at least 80% of the time. It just happens. But, it was nice to get away from the “teacher chat” for a bit and just talk about other, really silly, really ridiculous things. 🙂
I love nights like this. It makes the work week a lot easier when I have fun things to break it up with.
5) At dinner yesterday, I made some of the yummiest roasted sweet potatoes. But I can’t remember which spices I tossed together. Don’t you hate when that happens?
5) 4 years ago TODAY, we were in Vancouver for one of the most special events of our lives. Four years ago today, the Bajaj family and the Nanda family merged (BAJANDAS!!!) and we got the best Bhabhi in the entire world. Not a sister-in-law, but a sister. And she’s ours. Forever. <3
I’ll probably be out of commission and away from blogging/social media for most of the weekend, so I hope you all have a fantastic Memorial Day weekend full of barbecues, delicious food, and wonderful company! 🙂
Questions of the Day:
- What’s your absolute favorite kitchen appliance?
I’m torn between my food processor, Vitamix, and my fancy new spiralizer. All very different. - When you’re out with co-workers, do you chat about work or try to move away from that?
I have a hard time NOT talking about work with my co-workers. I feel like we never get to touch base during the day since we’re all so busy, so it’s nice to have some down time to talk about work with people who absolutely GET IT!
