We’ve got a couple more days ’til we head back to Chicago. And I’m hopeful that we skipped the last of the real cold days.
Next week is looking like it’s gonna be in the 50s and 60s. HELLO SPRINGTIME!
We’ll be back just in time to watch the river turn green, the tulips pop up on Michigan Ave., and the families slowly starting to trickle back to the playground.
I love this time of year when everything begins to defrost.
We are enjoying our time with the fam.
The kids are getting so much attention and fun and playtime and sunshine right now and it’s making me feel so happy that they’re being enveloped by all the people who love ’em.
And I, too, am getting some much needed rest and support.
Dadi came and got Riyu out of bed this morning and I’m just sitting here, cozy in bed with a warm blanket, excited for Ankur to land this evening!
Yesterday, I got to drive to my old stomping grounds and meander under the redwoods and eat an amazing dinner at LUNA with Jen. We drove right through downtown Campbell to see all the things that have remained and all the ways it has changed since I moved.
I miss this place so much. It feels like my 20s in the Bay was a lifetime ago. So much has changed, but the bones are the same. I wish there were a way I could clone my body and live in all the places I love, soaking up all the experiences I love with all the people I love.
Why is that not a thing I can do, please.
Okay, I am going to go pull out my PHYSICAL BOOK and read a few chapters before I crawl out of bed to put my ‘mom’ hat on.
Have a great weekend!
