Boats, Books, and Brussels

Bullet points kind of a post today. Because I plan on being in bed in an hour. Don’t judge me. #grandmastatus

  • Last week one of my kiddos smacked into a pole while playing tag and then fell back onto the concrete and hit his head. The paramedics were called and, although everything ended up OK, it made for a stressful Friday.

  • Luckily, we had a happy hour immediately following work.

Three of those knocked the stress right outta me.

  • Sometimes I hate technology and sometimes I LOVE it. Our happy hour was at San Pedro Square Market which is basically a huge marketplace with food vendors, bars, and outdoor seating. I ordered food from the Loteria Taco Bar and they were able to inform me through text when my food was ready. How efficient.

  • I’m still reading this book and absolutely loving it.

  • I’m also an OBB (Obsessive Book Buyer) and buy books faster than I can read them. Here’s what’s up next on the old reading list:

  • I’m the mayor at Starbucks in Carmel. That could mean one of two things. 1) Most of the people that live there are 50+ and still think that FourSquare is a game you play with a handball and some chalk OR 2) I go to Carmel WAY.TOO.MUCH.

But seriously, who wouldn’t drive down here every weekend?

I fall more in love with this place with every visit.

  • I just ate roasted brussels sprouts with garlic for dinner and it was pretty phenomenal. Roasted veggies are always a special treat. Typically, it’s really difficult for me to wait 45 minutes-1 hour until they’re ready. I’m too impatient.

  • Today was a 13-hour workday. And tomorrow is going to be a 15-hour workday. Which means it is now bedtime.

Good night, friends! Hope you’re having a fabulous week! 🙂

Favorite playground game?

I was definitely a tetherball kind of a gal. Sometimes handball. But RARELY FourSquare.

Favorite roasted veggie?

Brussel sprouts, fo’sho. And I loved adding the garlic cloves into it this time around!

  1. I LOVED FourSquare as a kid. And Handball. I think the answer to your Starbucks question lies somewhere in the middle. LOTS of older people in Carmel. 😉

  2. it’s SO HARD for me to wait for roasted veggies (especially Brussels) to be ready, but i like to put them in the over and then do things like shower, pack my lunch for the next day, etc to pass the longgggg 45 minutes.
