BeerFest and GreekFest!

Remember when I said the sunglasses snuck into my suitcase somehow?

Yes, there’s a kid behind Julia. A kid in a bar. While his parents are enjoying BeerFest.

Well they made a reappearance on Saturday at the Beer Festival in Mountain View and the Greek Festival in San Jose. It was difficult to narrow down the festivals we wanted to attend this weekend. There were at least FIVE that sounded appealing! I wish they would spread themselves out over the course of the year. Because it definitely made for a rough Sunday morning.

Typically, I’d be all about the Wine & Art festivals but the South Bay has SO many of those. Although I’m a bit sad I didn’t attend the WineFest because I heard they had margaritas. Darn.

We made our way through MV and tried out most of the breweries. I think we didn’t make it to 3 of them, but I’m not too butthurt about it. Around 5PM we hopped onto the Caltrain to head toward the Greek Orthodox Church in San Jose. It was so fun to browse through all the booths but what we were REALLY excited about was the food.

I have ZERO pictures of that because I gobbled it up before I could remember. Oops.

Both festivals were definitely worth checking out! I was just a little more sluggish on Sunday. But we did end up completing a 5-mile hike at Sanborn County Park. The weather was absolutely perfect!

We also saw a wedding in the middle of the park which was SO BEAUTIFUL. But I didn’t want to be the creeper that pulled out her phone to take pictures of some rand-o’s wedding.

We did a bit of shopping at Sprouts Farmers Market (which I’m newly obsessed with, BTW) and I did a teeeeeeeeny bit of food prep before I passed out for the night.

In another news, I can’t believe that this is the last full week of school! Where does the time go?!

What is the last festival you attended, if any?

Are you more of a beer or wine person?

Favorite thing to order at a Greek festival restaurant?

  1. Ummm, I’m pretty much in love with those glasses, and it looks like you had so much fun!!! I would have been bummed to miss out on margaritas too, but beer might win over margaritas for me…mayyyybe. 😉

  2. I would say I wish we had some wine festivals but there are no really good vineyards here. We have a few festivals that we like to go to. There is a really big Greek Food Festival that I’ve yet to go to though.

  3. Looks like a fun time!

I’m attending the local festival (here in Northern Illinois) on Saturday and can’t wait to get my booze on! I’ve been a good boy lately and am looking forward to cutting loose and getting a little crazy! 🙂

Oh, and definitely beer over wine for me. 🙂

  4. I really don’t do beer or wine, so I normally don’t go to festivals, but I always like to see other people’s pictures or hear their stories. I think that area looks like a lovely place for a wedding too! I’ve always wanted to have one outdoors

  5. HA! My husband is Greek so I definitely attend my fair share of Greek Festivals in the summer. He actually plays in a band with his dad at a good amount of them every summer. This weekend was our churchs festival and even though it was HOT it was a lot of fun.

  6. I LOVEEEEEEEEE festivals!!! SO much fun to just explore the unknown! 🙂 And I ADORE GREEK FOOD!!! Oh my, SOOOOOOOOO delicious! 😀 I am really jealous of your awesome outting!
