WHOLE FOODS $50 Gift Card Giveaway

Good evening, friends!

There are several fabulous things happening this week.

For starters, it’s National Frog Jumping Day, so that’s worth celebrating.

In other [probably more relevant] news, it’s National Women’s Health Week. I, for one, am celebrating that by starting my 30-day commitment to eating clean. It was a little tempting earlier today and I had to hold myself back from snagging some chocolate & caramel covered popcorn from the CST proctor snack bags or some pan dulce from the staff room (man, you have GOT to have some ridiculous self-control if you work at a school!). But, I stayed strong and, the minute I had some down time, I grabbed the grapes I packed in my lunchbox this morning.

One of the most IMPORTANT things I learned yesterday in my HANGRY state was that it is VITAL to prep if you want to be successful. Yesterday, after work, I drove straight to Whole Foods to buy some pre-cooked chicken and other necessities and then spent the evening prepping for the rest of the week. Whole Foods makes it SO easy to eat clean.

  • They carry natural and organic products — no artificial flavors, sweeteners, colorings or preservatives.
  • They value organic farming – no toxic chemicals used in conventional food production.
  • They recognize that you are what your meat eats – they inform customers about where their meat comes from and how it was raised
  • They are responsible leaders in their industry – provide socially and environmentally responsible options for their consumers

I was a little hesitant when I went to the deli and ordered some pre-cooked Cajun Lime chicken. I wanted to make sure that there was no sugar or “off-plan” ingredients used in the marinade. Lucky for me, Whole Foods makes sure to list out all of the ingredients used in their food. They make it SO easy to shop for what you need. So much so that I end up spending quite a bit more than I would at a regular grocery store. But, to be honest, I think it’s worth every penny. I know exactly what I’m eating and THAT is more important to me than anything else when it comes to the foods I select.

Which brings me to my third fabulous event this week.

Tomorrow is Eat Teach Blog’s 2nd anniversary.

Two years ago, I started this blog as a way to document my big moments, my little moments, and everything in between. Two years ago, I was sitting in Fashion Island with Sissy as I tried to come up with a blog name that would illustrate two of the things that I value most in my life. Two years ago, I was laying on my belly in my living room as I enthusiastically pressed “Publish” on my very first post. Two years ago, I started a journey that has become a part of my life and part of who I am.

And it is only fitting that, on this special day, we merge all the wonderful things happening this week (sans Frog Jumping Day) and do a fun giveaway on Eat Teach Blog.
