Weekend Snapshots: Christmas 2016

Good morning from southern California! We’re hoppin’ all over this state. When we landed in Orange County last night, the pilot announced it was 55 degrees outside. After the weather in Tennessee – and even in northern California – the sound of 55 degrees was music to my ears!

We’ll be taking advantage of the weather and going on a hike this morning! But, before I head out, here are some snapshots from our weekend.

Thursday:

During the day, we hung out at home, decorating Pollyanna.

Pollyanna is a short, but sweet Christmas tree. She didn’t require too many ornaments to accessorize with. And. because of her size, it didn’t take us too long to get her all lit up and decorated! She is beautiful. And smells great.

In the evening, we drove up to Oakland to have dinner at Zachary’s Pizza for Nikhil’s birthday. Zachary’s is a Chicago-style pizza joint that Ankur used to eat at back in his Berkeley days. I loved the pizza, but my heart still lies with Patxis when it comes to Chicago-style pizza.

Happy Birthday Nikhil!

Friday:

We watched Star Wars during the day and attended a holiday party in the evening. Every year, Ankur’s high school friends get together and have a Winter Gathering. It’s pretty impressive that they’ve been doing this – consistently – for the past ten years.

Other Highlights from the Weekend:

  • Starbucks every morning.

  • Spending time with family

  • Getting a Fitbit and jumping right back in to our Workweek Hustle!

  • Spending time with Rosie.

Now, we’re off to soak up some more quality time with our southern California family.

But first, Starbucks.

Have a good one!

Questions of the Day:

  • Do you celebrate Christmas? What did you do for the holidays?

  • What’s your favorite pizza place?

  • What are you looking forward to this week?
