Things I’m Loving Lately #19

Good morning! This week is just whizzing by. I can’t believe it’s already Thursday and, in just a few days, we’ll be on our way back to Tennessee.

I think it goes without saying that the one thing I am loving most this week is our time with family. I’m trying to soak up every second that I possibly can so I may not return tomorrow for a blog post. But I wanted to pop in today because my weekly Things I’m Loving post is my favorite to write.

Below is a roundup of things that are making me happy this week. As always, feel free to play along in the comments and share something that you’re loving!

  • Above 60-degree weather

Last night, we went to dinner with Zack and Molly in Irvine. Afterward, we hung out outside for half an hour – just chatting and eating our ice cream. Yes, ice cream in December. It felt so wonderful to be outside without having to bundle up.

  • Dangal

This is not your usual Bollywood film. Dangal is a true story of a father who, after failing to fulfill his dreams due to financial difficulties, trained his two daughters to follow in his footsteps and become professional wrestlers. It’s an inspirational story about dedication and motivation – all intermingled with the emotional aspect of a father coaching his two daughters while breaking social norms. I highly recommend it to anyone.

  • Korean Burgers and Tacos

We tried out a new-to-us restaurant yesterday called Urban Seoul. The fusion of Mexican and Korean food was surprisingly wonderful and every single thing we tried was so flavorful. The most challenging thing was choosing something off the menu. Everything looked like a uniquely delicious option. I will definitely be going back to try some more of their menu items.

  • My New Wedding Band

We had ordered this offline a few months ago, but we needed to get it resized and I wanted to wait until we were back in California to do it from a reliable place. We went to Top Fix Jewelry and Watch in Irvine and they were able to get it done within a few hours at a pretty affordable rate. Now, my rings fit and I am officially a wife. (Because it’s not official unt
    il the rings fit, y’know?)

  • Afters Ice Cream

Even though we were completely stuffed from our Korean taco experience yesterday, it was vital that we try out the dessert place across the street. Afters offers a “Milky Bun” – which is essentially a glazed donut cut in half and stuffed with ice cream and a topping. I stuck with ice cream in a cone because I didn’t know if I could handle that level of sweet, but I snuck a few bites from Sissy and Ankur’s milky buns (<—-that sounds weird), and I can honestly say it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever tried.

Questions of the Day:

  • What’s your favorite dessert?
  • What are you loving this week?
