Things I’m Loving Lately #18 [Link-Up]
Good morning! I spent most of yesterday frolicking around San Jose, my old stomping grounds, and my heart is feeling so happy. I love being back in my favorite place. In addition to being HOME again, here are a few other things I’ve been loving this week.
As always, play along in the comments or add your own “Things I’m Loving” post to the link-up below!

California Skies

Ankur and I took Rosie for a walk to the park yesterday and I couldn’t stop staring at the sky and all the green, rolling hills around us. Apparently it rained a bunch before we got into town, which is why everything looks so green and beautiful! I love the post-rain sky. Everything looks so clear and fresh. -
Iced Coffee During Winter

First, I need to love on the fact that I’m back in a place that understands what iced coffee is. Second, I appreciate that I can actually drink iced coffee because it’s always appropriate to get a cold drink in California. -
Plain Tart Frozen Yogurt

While I am grateful that there is a frozen yogurt place near us in Harrogate, Tennessee, the one drawback is that they don’t have the plain tart flavor. I am definitely going to be taking advantage of the fact that we will be near a Yogurtland for the next week and a half! -
RBM Reunions

I dropped by RBM yesterday and got to see all my old kiddos and friends. It was crazy to see how much some of them have grown since I last saw them in June. I miss them all the time and, though I keep up with most of them through their parents and old co-workers, it was nice to see them and squeeze them in real life. My heart felt so warm and fuzzy all day yesterday. -
2017 Vision Planning

Jen and I parked ourselves under the redwood trees at Sanborn to plan for 2017. There’s something about being outside – among the redwoods – that brings a level of clarity and mindfulness that our typical day-to-day lacks. The year of 2017 is going to, hopefully, be the year of simplicity. Approaching things one at a time. Allowing my brain think time. Giving myself the time and space to be reflective.
Questions of the Day:
- Where are you spending the holidays?
- What are you thankful for?
- What is your vision for 2017?

We are spending the holidays in our home here in North Alabama. Though it will not be home too much longer, as we are moving states in the first quarter of 2017, so we are just going to enjoy our family in our home for now. I’m thankful for a fresh start, fresh year, and in a new place. I’m thankful for hope. 🙂
I thought the Force was stronger yesterday! Enjoy your trip.
It can never be too cold for iced coffee – great minds do think alike!
My husband is also an ice coffee during the winter kinda person. Im never an ice coffee drinker but it always looks good
I love iced coffee year round. This year we are going to Disney and we are going to go to Medieval Times for Christmas dinner.
Yes! Planning for the new year is important. I’ve already created my editorial calendar for the upcoming year.
Yum ice coffee can be had hot weather or cold. I was also thinking of doing some vision planning too. Merry Christmas
oooh, some California weather sounds soooo good right about now. I’ve had enough of this Midwest winter!!
Yay for vision planning. I’ve mapped out my January using my annual goals as a spring board.
I’m always so happy to read your posts Divya. Your love for what you do is so outstanding. I wish there were many more teachers like you. Keep up the great job!
Have an amazing trip! I’m always an iced coffee lover, too! Happy 2017 planning!
Aren’t these awesome! I love your picture of the skies as well. It’s calming. I don’t know what it is about the cold weather that drives your to crave for cold things! I am constantly craving for ice cream.
I am thankful for my two boys. For the holidays I will be home as usual, just enjoying the time.
Love iced coffee all year round as well. Great post, love reading posts like these.
California is one of my favorite states so much to see and to eat. Great restaurants and amazing farm to table concepts.
Aww What a lovely thoughts, I love drinking iced coffee in winter time, California skies looks will bring so much fun!
I’m hosting Christmas dinner. I will be spending time with friends and family. Which should be a lot of fun since I didn’t host Thanksgiving dinner this year.
I love that pic of the skies! I agree iced coffee is the best any time of year!
I love cold coffees and some fizzy drinks in winters. I started loving sky, grass, and certain nature aspects more than before; may be because now I understand the significance of mother nature.
Can’t get on board with iced coffee in winter, but I am in Ohio, not California! Sitting with a good friend amongst the redwoods sounds like an ideal setting to plan your year!
The California skies looks like the default Wallpaper of my computer 3 years ago haha Lol. Iced coffee during winter is just a “My doing” too. Never liked coffee aside from Iced coffee! Lol
I’m sure that visiting RBM and seeing your old kids would have been a delightful experience for you! Enjoy your time fullest with family and friends! wish you Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, warmest greetings and best wishes for the New Year!
xoxo
Ana
I am an East Coast girl through and through. Raised in Boston, now live in Florida. Things making me smile right now is a belly full of pizza, the fact that it is about Christmas and all my windows are open, and the amazing Christmas menu I have planned.
I agree with so many of these. California sunsets have been amazing lately. I always drink iced coffee! Vision planning for 2017 has been happening all month.
Aren’t those skies lovely! I’m glad you’re able to enjoy days like those! There’s nothing like this season to appreciate nature more. It’s nice to see old students and how far they’ve progressed!
I love iced coffee during winter too. My husband always asks me why I don’t prefer hot coffee. What can I say, I love the cold flavors!
great post! Is the first photo taken from the same spot like the famous Microsoft wallpaper? Looks beautiful ! And I am jealous that you can drink ice coffee in the winter. Here is Europe I can only get hot drink, to warm myself up as its so cold outside!
Currently in South Korea spending the holidays with my husband and son. Always grateful for the gift of love, friendship, and family. Merry Christmas! 🙂
I love iced tea. I am a big tea drinker. Beautiful blue sky. I can’t wait for the summer to be able to see and enjoy the blue skies.
What a wonderful post, love your 2017 Vision Planning! Setting goals for upcoming year is so important! May all your dreams come true!
Vision planning is definitely something I need to get into. I feel like I have so many idea and goals and I never fully imagine them and therefore, they never come true.
