Happy Mother’s Day to all you wonderful mothers/mother-figures! Hope your weekend was as wonderful and family-filled as mine! 🙂
Friday:
I stayed at work until 6ish so that I could take care of a couple of things. I did this last week and it was WONDERFUL because it helped ease that Sunday stress I normally feel toward the end of the weekend. Totally worth the extra hours I have to put in on Friday.
After work, I drove over to Jen and Juan’s and we all went to Casa de Cobre for dinner.
The food was alright, but that pomegranate margarita….YUM.
Saturday:
I woke up early, packed up a couple of things, and drove over to see Bhaiya/Bhabhi/Baby.
(First, I had to ‘unpack’ my laundry basket from LAST weekend. Embarrassing).
When I pulled up at their house, Veer was sitting at the door waiting for me. Best welcome ever. I just love this age of his right now – he’s so much fun, so talkative, and brings SO much joy to my life. <3
Bhabhi and I went to a “meeting” (which I will disclose more of in a week or so) and then met up with Bhaiya and Baby for lunch on Cannery Row.
We decided to go to Fish Hopper – kid-friendly AND a gorgeous view.
And, as tempting as it was, I did not order the $225 tequila shot.
I’m not a seafood-y person. At all. But, for being a seafood place, their chicken was pretty fab! Especially because they topped it with some flavorful artichoke hearts.
After lunch, we made a mini detour to get some ice cream for the baby…
….and some Starbucks for the adults.
Since Bhaiya/Bhabhi’s stove and oven are out of commission for a while, our options for dinner were limited. So, we ordered some Thai food and, before we went to go pick it up, we were drawn into the local bookstore next door.
The last thing I need right now is MORE books to put on my shelf that already has several un-read books on it. But, it’s so tempting. I LOVE BOOKS.
I decided to purchase a book that I recently bought, but had given away to a parent that I thought would enjoy it. I have only read 1/3 of it, but I think this is a book that I want to keep with me forever. So well-written. So much more than an ‘advice column.’
The rest of the night was spent watching Dancing with the Stars (but we watched episodes from 2 seasons ago – the ones that Gavin Degraw was on! Definitely made me love him more than I already do!) and Parenthood.
Saturday:
On Saturday morning, Veer made us a green smoothie.
He doesn’t look too thrilled about it.
And Bhabhi served it to me in a wine glass – in hopes that the presentation would sell it for me. (Presentation meaning the WINE GLASS, not the BROWN LIQUID).
We waited until Bhaiya got home from his rounds and then went out to Mother’s Day Brunch at Chipotle. No, we’re not lame planners. It was actually way more preferred than any restaurant/brunch buffets! 🙂
After lunch, we went to Peet’s (Bhabhi’s favorite) and ordered an iced coffee w/almond milk.
And then drove home so that Bhaiya could play with Veer’s toys as Veer watched on from afar. #RoleReversal
I had every intention to go home tonight. But, due to Mother’s Day, there was a RIDICULOUS amount of traffic. I drove for about an hour, which took me about 10 miles, and then decided to turn around and head back. But FIRST, I stopped at the same place I bought those avocados 2 months ago.
SO. MUCH. CHEAP. PRODUCE.
I got back to their house and then proceeded to eat my body weight in salad.
Now, I’m off to go lay on the couch with my favorites while we watch some more Parenthood! Enjoy the last remaining bit of your weekend! 🙂

Drooling over that Chipotle! I am half way through Wild and am LOVING it! And part of me wishes I had money to throw away simply so I could taste what makes $225 tequila so special! Crazy

Oh man, Wild is HANDS down one of my favorite books. It’s the reason I was led to buy this book. She’s such a beautiful writer.

Sounds like a nice weekend. I’m a book hoarder – used to work for Waldenbooks if that gives you any indication!
