My happiness from this morning followed me throughout the day.
This morning, I was really excited to walk into work after last night’s event at City Hall. Long story short, we won the vote for Phase II of our construction plans. Meaning, unless we have to go back due to an appeal, our kids will have a basketball court, a permanent building, and a second playground.
It was amazing to see our family – our community – come together at one of the most crucial moments in our school’s development.
As soon as we found out that the vote was in our favor, all the kids jumped up and down and the entire sea of purple parents and staff members squealed. It was the best.
At Rocketship, I don’t feel like I’m among my students and their parents. I feel like I go to work and I’m among my kids and my family. Each and every day. And that’s a feeling that not many people get to have.
I’ve come to realize that Rocketship Education is not perfect. We are far from it. But we are a community of committed, driven, dedicated, and collaborative people that are here for a purpose. We are here for our kids and our families. My family.
