First Presidential Debate

Well that was quite the debate last night, am I right? Although, to be fair, Hillary didn’t have to try too hard. Here are a few of my favorite moments from the night, along with a couple of tweets about the debate.

presidential debate

HRC:
“I have a feeling that by the end of the night I’m going to be blamed for everything.”
DT:
“Why not?”

__

HRC:
“He paid zero in federal income tax.”
DT:
“That makes me smart.”

__

DT:
“Our airports are like 3rd world countries.”

__

DT:
“You’ve been fighting ISIS your entire adult life.”
(Hillary turned 21 in 1968. ISIS was founded in 1999. Ummm…)

__

DT:
“A city where I have investments…”
(Not a city where ‘loved ones are lost’ or ‘good people live.’ But he has property there so he knows the struggle.)

__

DT:
“African Americans, Hispanics are living in hell. You walk down the street, you get shot.”

__

HRC:

“I prepared to be the president and I think that’s a good thing.”

  1. I’m not an American, so I have no say for this issue – but I got to admit both of them excels on their industry, one in business the other in politics.

  2. Well, I didn’t watch the train wreck of the debates last night. It is time for the 2 party system to end. This country is so divided, its sad. Neither candidate looks like they want to change that. I am for #GaryJohnson because I can’t vote for the lesser of 2 evils and still feel good about it. I did have a glimmer of respect for HRC then she called Trump supporters a basket of deplorables. She could of just kept her mouth shut, but she stumped to his level.

  3. I taped the debate last night and have it on in the background right now! So many of the things Trump is saying are just mind-boggling to me… Very glad to be Canadian right now!

  4. Loved reading the way you have highlighted Mr. DT. O boy where did he come from.
Do you know what happened to Dennis the Menace when he grew old….. ………..
    He became Mr. Donald Trump.
    Go Hilary!!!
    Cheers!!

Correction…. This is not Divya. This is one of her biggest blog follower….
I look forward to your blog every morning Divpiv

  6. It’s an interesting commentary that being a registered voter has to be a question. As an Americans citizens we have the right to vote (unless a felon). This right is used far less than the second amendment, even though this right has the ability to make more change in the world. Sigh…American logic. Any way, the debate was a about what I expected: Trump used intimidation, and Clinton had to go on the defense. I imagine we will never know what Trump’s policies/plans will be, and Clinton will never be allowed a word in on hers.

Favorite lines (because they’re so ridiculous):
DT: She doesn’t have the look! Or the Stamina!

LH: “‘Stop and frisk’ was ruled unconstitutional in New York, because it largely singled out black and hispanic young men…”t

DT: “No, you’re wrong. It went before a judge who was a very against police judge. It was taken away from her and our mayor, our new mayor, refused to go forward with the case. They would have won an appeal.”

  7. “Our airports are like 3rd world countries.”
“African Americans, Hispanics are living in hell. You walk down the street, you get shot.”

These two were my faves…. I mean…. this whole thing is SCARY

  8. It was such a crazy debate! I actually decided not to watch it because I didn’t want my brain to explode, but gave in and watched it anyways. I thought Hillary did a great job at keeping calm and giving really great answers, even with all of the interruptions.

  9. I’m not American and even I can’t help but get enticed by this election – it just seems so crazy from either side. I can’t get my head around the thought of Trump as president…

  10. Yes, I am registered to vote and plan to do so. I refused to watch the debate (Trump does not know the meaning of the word even as it plays out in politics). I AGREE with Betty White!!!!!

  11. The tweets are gold. I’ve definitely registered to vote and holy eff I just really cannot understand how anyone can support him. ._. Keeping all my limbs crossed, but if this all doesn’t pan out, maybe I should move to Canada after I finish my residency? ._.

  12. You forgot the best quote “braggadocious”. I know me and about a million others immediately googled it to see if it was a real word! Please tell me you did too!

  13. I watched that debate thinking how did we get here. Donald Trump just making faces, interupping, bragging about not paying taxes and just shouting “wrong! wrong!”. He was a mess.

One of my favorite tweets was: “I see Hilary came dressed in the blood of the men who have underestimated her.”

  14. I watched this s! I limited in political science… and let’s just say this whole election is one big headache!!!!

  15. I am not into politics and honestly I am so tired of this election. Feel lost and not hopeful. I am actually worried where the USA is going and what the future will bring. However some of the tweets are funny. I guess we need to make the best out of this. Probably humor can reduce stress.

  16. Hope post the elections the President would talk and act positive and make a difference to US and the world by acting on make the world a healthy place to live in

I am quite confident of the same

  17. I watched the debate and he did pretty well in the beginning and then went downhill quickly. It showed he didn’t prepare. Although, I don’t like either one of them, so my vote is still up in the air.

  18. I am not American I am Canadian, but I stayed up to watch this debate. It actually shocks me that America would choose a man like Donald Trump to get as far as he has, what shocks me even more is that society has allowed a man like that to become “successful” in life. To think he has a chance at running a country is sickening. The world is watching in horror as this unfolds. If I could vote I would be, and I would make sure every single person I knew was also. There Is no excuse.

  19. I didn’t watch but I really wanted to! I live in Canada so I’m just sort of watching the craziness unfold on the sidelines!

  20. I watched the heated debate on the sideline. I saw Frontline making a documentary interview about DT and his advisory mentioned that nobody can predict what DT is gong to say during his speech or debate. It’s up to the Americans to vote!

  21. The debate was intense. In my opinion, I think Hillary out beat Donald Trump. People are mad at Donald Trump. He doesn’t think before speaking.
