After spending all weekend eating our way through Asheville, it’s time to reel it back in. Mondays are always a little tough for me – especially after a few days of indulging in all sorts of high-calorie foods and drinks. It takes me a little while longer to bounce back when I give in to my cravings.

Luckily, my Weight Watcher meetings are so appropriately placed on Monday evenings. This gives me the motivation that I need after the weekend and sets me up for a successful week ahead. Last night, we talked about high-protein snacks or items we can add to our meals. Increasing protein intake can keep us fuller for longer. And consuming protein immediately after a workout can help maximize muscle protein building and can lead to better results.

Premier Protein Shake Weight Loss:

At only 160 calories and 30 grams of protein (only 2 Smart Points!), this seems to be a Weight-Watchers favorite. This morning, after completing my workout, I’ll pair this with a banana for breakfast and have so many points left to spare for the day!

If you had a rough weekend – heck, even a rough day! – this is a great way to start over. Make the most out of your workout and keep yourself fueled throughout the day.

Questions of the Day:

  • What must-have items do you have in your gym bag?
  • How do you reel yourself back in after a weekend of ALL the eats?

  1. My husband has been ALL about the protein shakes lately, however, he makes his own….. I am sure he’d like bottled ones – because it takes the thinking out of it, but… I think making your own is best! 🙂

  2. I think that I may have tried these before and they were quite good. I like protein shakes because of the amount of protein they give you in one glass or bottle.

  3. These look so convenient! I’m not a big shake drinker, but it’s such a good idea to pump up the protein intake post-workout. Definitely good advice about giving yourself permission/encouragement to start over after falling off the nutrition wagon.

  4. The weekend is always my downfall! I make it a habit of doing my weigh-in on a Friday morning so I know whether I can let loose on the weekend a bit or not 😉

  5. My husband has been making protein shakes in the morning, but I usually run out of time. This is a great idea and definitely something I could stick with 🙂

  6. This looks like a good protein shake and agree with you on taking some carbs with it too in the breakfast. Good to connect with you Divya through this. 🙂

  7. After weeks or weekend of overeating, I tend to detoxify with lots of fruit juices and detox tea. And yup its very fulfilling 🙂

  9. Hello Divya:

I just ordered the protein shake (thru your website) and found that it is available in
    banana flavor.
I hope you get credit for it as I ordered it thru your blog.
You can order that instead of getting the chocolate ones and adding banana to it.

    This is just FYI.
