A Little Monthly Therapy

Last year in November, one of my co-workers invited me to attend something she hosted at her apartment called “Women’s Circle.” I was hesitant at first and, when they pulled out the Goddess Cards that night, I pretty much had to stifle back all the giggles. Comparing myself to a goddess didn’t really seem super magical or therapeutic. (The wine bottle on the other hand definitely had some healing power to it so I wasn’t running out the door!)

Since that day in November, my experience in NorCal has changed significantly for the better. I have a group of lovely ladies who I can vent to, cry to, laugh with, and (most importantly) eat and drink with – with no judgment whatsoever.

Yesterday, we gathered around the X-mas tree, checked in with one another about events that have happened since our last circle at my apartment, and decorated cookies! (I didn’t decorate cookies because you need both hands to decorate cookies. One of my hands was occupied with a glass in it).

I’m just really grateful – and extremely lucky – to have this monthly therapy session with such wonderful ladies. It definitely makes those challenging weeks a lot more manageable.

  1. Therapy = working out, going out to lunch with a friend, seeing a matinee, or going on a motorcycle ride, or just relaxing without a worry in the world!!!!!! And oh… NO MAKE UP! ha haha!

  2. That sounds awesome! I get a lot of healing from teaching group fitness classes. I’ve been teaching at the same gyms for a long time and have some regulars, who I love to sweat with and motivate. However, a glass of wine and a Facetime date with my Momma across the country helps too. Happy Wednesday! We’re bracing for bath weather in SF right now.
