Groupon Coupons

I love coupons.

I think I inherited it from my Nanu.

Nanu

When we were younger, all of the kids would sleepily stumble into the kitchen on Sunday mornings to find Nanu at the kitchen table, already dressed for the day. On one side of him, he’d have the Sunday comics folded up for the first grandkid that came downstairs and grabbed ’em. On the other side of him, he’d have a neatly stacked pile of coupons that he had cut out for our shopping trip later that week.

There is a certain kind of thrill that comes along with saving money on an otherwise expensive product.

So much has changed between then and now.

We don’t have to wait until the newspaper shows up to see what is on sale at the grocery store. We don’t need to have a pair of scissors in the drawer, ready to cut out coupons. Everything is accessible online. From our computers and from our phones.

So much has changed between then and now. But the feeling remains the same.

That feeling of surprising someone you love with a gift.

A gift that didn’t break the bank because you skillfully used a coupon.

Last week, Ankur and I sat down to look at wedding bands together. Because our engagement party turned into a wedding overnight, we didn’t have wedding bands to exchange the day of. After we got married, we shipped off to Tennessee so he could start medical school and the financial pressures of buying a ring just didn’t make sense with everything else we had to pay for.

So, now, as we are approaching our 6-month wedding anniversary, we thought we’d start browsing online for some affordable rings. We wanted something inexpensive – but also something long-lasting and tasteful – so we decided to check out Groupon Coupons. Blue Nile, the online retailer that Ankur purchased my engagement ring from, was offering a huge discount on some of their wedding bands using a Groupon Coupon code. And, after researching a few other websites to compare costs, we knew that Blue Nile was, once again, our best option because of the discount that Groupon Coupons provided.

No scissors.

No newspapers.

Just a few clicks and my wedding band – that ended up being extremely affordable – was on it’s way to my front door. While I will never forget the days of cutting out coupons from the paper, I’m definitely on board with this more advanced way of “coupon-ing.” It offers consumers a wide variety of discounts and the ability to buy from well-known stores – something we were unable to do back in the day.

I wasn’t sure when – if ever! – I’d be able to wear a wedding ring, but because of Groupon Coupons I will proudly be able to display a symbol of our marriage on my finger forever.

My Nanu would be so proud.
