1) I was supposed to send this out late last night, but Jen and I decided to go get a massage around 9:45 last night. (Yes, shady foot spas are open that late). Which meant that I wasn’t home until 11:30-ish. At which point, nothing sounded more appealing than my bed.
2) Today was Data Day. Which means that kids weren’t at school. Which means that I was so productive. We sorted through our data and there were several highlights. But one of my favorites is this:
One of our kiddos jumped from a 50% on his Math benchmark assessment to a 70%. But the number wasn’t the real win. It was the fact that he sat down to take the test. That he actually spent time thinking about the question and what the most logical answer would be. The 20% jump was just an added bonus. 🙂
3) I’m officially the Queen of Destruction. I’ve already gone through two Fitbits (the One and the Zip). I’m now on my third (which is another Fitbit One). And that was semi-broken earlier this week. Right now, it’s working. Cross your fingers that it stays working. It’s probably just rusty from barely moving for the past month or so.
4) Yesterday we had an All-Staff meeting but were still out early enough to spend some time in the park near Jen’s house. I love sunshine. I love wine.
5) Remember how I had a bee in my shower back in August? Well, there have been about 5 more since that one. I’m pretty sure I’m going to die in my sleep. I check the sheets every night before I get into bed, but I’m confident that they’re all after me because I keep drowning their family members.
6) The Budhraja family + aunts and uncles + my grandmother are going to Cancun for Spring Break. Did you laugh? Good. I’m not the only one. My dad suggested Cancun. We told him that it was SPRING BREAK – COLLEGE EDITION in Cancun. But once my dad’s mind is made up, he’s pretty committed. So we will be celebrating spring break. With 21-year old college kids, red cups, and wet T-shirt contests.
7) Today was actually a really productive day in terms of creating goals for our students and action steps for ourselves. When I tack a date on something and give myself a deadline, I am a lot more likely to hold myself accountable for completing the action item. I definitely have my work cut out for me this weekend, but MAN it’s going to feel good when I can cross those things off.
8) I’m hosting Women’s Circle this month. I’m really excited to have everyone over! We’re having a books and clothes exchange. Although I have a really hard time parting with my books……..so this should be interesting. 🙂
9) Our new book for BBB is Moloka’i. I didn’t vote for it, but I’m interested to read something that I wouldn’t otherwise choose for myself. Moloka’i is about a seven-year-old girl who is forcibly removed from her family when she contracts leprosy. She’s placed in a settlement – away from everything, where she loses a series of new friends – until new medical discoveries enable her to “re-enter” the world. I’m intrigued!
10) I’m off to a work happy hour to celebrate the end of a successful data cycle!
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! 🙂

ha ha – no books under my bed, however, if I keep getting books, I might have to store them under there!
sounds like you had a crazy awesome productive day! I love those 🙂
