Fun Facts Friday: 10/28/16

It’s Friday!

We made it.

This morning’s post is going to be nice and short because I opted to sleep for an extra hour. Oops.

I think one of my favorite things in the WORLD is waking up without an alarm yelling at you. It makes me just love the weekends THAT much more. On the agenda this weekend is a trip to Knoxville, a little behind-the-scenes blogwork, and Step Aerobics classes (on both Friday evening. And Saturday morning. Duh.)

But, before I sign off for the weekend, here are some fun facts from this past week! Share your fun facts in the comment – they’re always such a treat to read!

Our school is having a pumpkin-decorating contest.

The kids are going ALL out. There are big pumpkins eating little pumpkins. Pumpkins painted in multiple colors and then topped off with sequins. Pumpkins that look like emojis or Minions. It’s unreal. But, my favorite has GOT to be the gumball pumpkin.

I’m not too big on Halloween, but the kids love it and it’s a big deal at the schools so I’ll play along.

I’m dressing up in theme with the other 4th grade teachers. We’ve all picked an emoji to dress up as. I’m going to be the heart-eyed smiley face. My first pick was the wine glass emoji, but they told me that was inappropriate. My second choice was the “poop” emoji. That was a no-go also. Let’s just say they selected the emoji FOR me because my third pick was the middle finger.

I took this personality test and it told me I was an entertainer.

That just told me I’m extroverted, extra-social, and extra-on all the feelings. Nothing I didn’t already know about myself. Glad to see that I’m keeping things consistent though. (Although, this particular test DID tell me I was fashionable. So maybe this one isn’t entirely accurate…)

Thrive Market is giving away a jar of Justin’s peanut butter.

Justin's PB

Have you had this stuff before? It’s ridiculously addicting. I love Justin’s peanut butter, almond butter, and hazelnut butter. It’s just a little pricey compared to other brands. But, if someone’s offering it to me for free, sign. me. up.

Okay, I’m out! Have a great weekend, my friends. I’ll be back on Monday with a weekend recap!

  1. I usually carve pumpkins but this is my first almost full-year without my fiancé since he joined the Air Force, so it feels almost wrong to do that tradition without him. That and money is tight because of the wedding and all, so if we’re spending money on things that are going to die quickly it will be flowers!

  2. Hi Divya,

I love gumball pumpkin! We’ll be taking the kids to the local farm to pick a pumpkin and carve it this weekend. Fun fact: the custom of making jack-o’-lanterns at Halloween began in Ireland but they used turnips instead.

I’ll be working at clients all weekend long–so no fun for Miki. I did go put for lunch with a friend today and we had some delicious pizza with a side salad-all for $8.00. Can’t beat that price and it was all very very good.

Every year I buy a big bag of candy to give out to trick or treaters and only a few show up so I end up taking the candy to the office.
