Five Fun Facts [4/18/14]

Fun Facts Friday

1) Happy Good Friday! No work today! Time for play! (But really, I think I’m going to get a good chunk of work done today so that I can actually have a fun weekend).

2) Our new book club book this month is: Wash by Margaret Wrinkle. I’m hoping to get some solid reading done this weekend. I wasn’t thrilled upon selection of the book, but I have to remind myself that I wasn’t thrilled about the previous two. And I LOVED them. So we shall see….

3) We had Women’s Circle at my apartment on Wednesday.

I made my Quinoa “Fried Rice” and it ended up being a really big hit. It’s really so simple to make that I would hardly call it a recipe at all.

We snacked on some MINT GOAT CHEESE that Janet made with her food processor. She also made fruit leather using it. Crazy! I haven’t done ANY creative things with my food processor other than mince garlic and onions. I need to jump on the food processing train.

Last month’s book exchange was supposed to be a book and clothes exchange, but since it ended up being cancelled, we decided to do it this month since everyone had bags stored away anyway.

The ENTIRE surface of our living room was covered with stuff and, after the girls tried on a few things and took some clothes home with them, we decided to pack the rest to donate to a shelter.

4) It has officially been over two months that I’ve been sick. Although, I think what I’m experiencing now is no longer bronchitis, but maybe a severe case of the allergies? Regardless, the humidifier is still my best friend.

5) We celebrated Jen’s birthday last night at The Farmer’s Union. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my BFF! The food was surprisingly pretty good! (I say surprisingly because they have 3 stars on Yelp and I clearly take Yelp way too seriously).

Juan brought mini cupcakes from Kara’s Cupcakes and I had the coconut/chocolate one. Always a good combination.

Now it’s time to enjoy the day off! 🙂 Have a good one!
