Confessions of a BloggerHolic #37

Good morning! I stayed up later than usual on Monday night watching the debate and then, again, last night watching The Voice. Luckily, the caffeine is working for me this morning. So, let’s use that fuel to do this week’s round of confessions!

There are a few new blog readers so I’ll explain. Every week, I write a blog post with a little “behind the scenes” of my life. Most of my other posts are edited with a slight filter and presented in a package that makes me look really good. (Well, that’s the hope).

But, let’s be honest. I am far from perfect. I do embarrassing things often. And I have plenty of secrets to share. (So much so that this is the 36th week of confessions….)

So let’s get going. As always, share one of your confessions in the comments. They’re my favorite to read!

Confession #1:

I got up early yesterday to make a healthy salad for lunch. And then my co-workers wanted to order Heavy’s BBQ from the food truck. So, naturally, I had to jump on board. Lunch upgraded. (Or downgraded, depending on how you look at it).

Confession #2:

I started this blog back in 2012 and I remember staring at my computer screen for an hour wondering what to name it. Sister had a blog for a short period of time called Smile Nod and Blog. Sister’s also a lot more creative than me so I swooped in and copied her blog name. Bam.

*You should also go spam Sister now that you have her blog URL. And tell her she should keep writing!

Confession #3:

Whenever Ankur and I make pizza for dinner, I always have him pack up the leftovers. This is because I have a tendency to pick at the pizza toppings when taking them off the pan and wrapping them in foil. I’ll try to carefully pull off a piece of zucchini to shove in my mouth and, before you know it, all toppings and cheese are gone and all I’m wrapping up is the crust with some sauce on it. I’ve been banned from pizza night clean-up duty.

  1. OH GIRL YES YES YES.
BBQ trumps SALAD or anything else for lunch (or any other meal :-)) always (types the texan).
and now I want RUDYS for lunch today…or dinner.
So there IS no clean up 🙂

  2. I have four kids, so I make dinner and they put it away 🙂 My blog name came from my Pinterest obsession. Don’t know if this is a secret or fun fact – I sleep at an angle that bugs the heck out of my hubby. I can’t sleep straight for some reason.

  3. I have this same recurring thought after dinner each night….
“I cook, I clean. He cooks, I still clean.” He will clean, but only if asked. Honestly it’s probably better that I do it myself because I get cranky… I mean the dishwasher tends to get cranky if it isn’t loaded just perfectly. 😂

  4. Well I work from home so whatever is around I guess. I pretty much do the cleaning up and choosing a blog name is so hard, isn’t it? basically I picked both of them thinking people would be able to know what they were about instantly.

  5. Love this! I also have stayed up way too late the past few nights, (celebrating my birthday with the family in town last night) and I’m so infamous for doing that lunch thing myself. Shame on me, but sometimes I just can’t help it. 🙂

  6. BBQ over salad, I say hell yeah! No contest. I love the mane of your blog, so where ever you got it, it works for you, and well. Love your confessions and behind the scenes. being human is a good thing.

  7. I’m usually in charge of the post-dinner clean up because I don’t do too much of the actual cooking. And I’m guilty of never packing a lunch because I work in a restaurant and there’s always delicious food around

  8. I usually clean up – because I am so particular!! I usually grab lunch – it’s my favorite meal of the day and love to grab a healthy chopped salad. My Little Pudding is something my mum calls my son. It’s a term of endearment and that why I had to name my blog that!

  9. I personally would consider that an upgrade on lunch!!! With four boys there normally isn’t to much left over from dinner in my house making clean up easy!

  10. Who does the clean-up depends on who’s more tired that day I think. We’re a very democratic household haha. And lunch usually consists of leftovers (which I don’t really mind…I can eat the same thing over and over for a week!)

  11. The secret behind my blog name Skipah’s Realm was that has been my nickname since I was a young kid (even wrote a blog post about it), and when I started blogging I was just getting ready to enter the ugly world of divorce/custody and literally buying my own domain was the first thing that was truly “mine” that couldn’t be claimed on an expense form and all the other awesome things that come with divorce. Two plus years later it was about the only smart decision I made that summer.

  12. Post dinner: whoever did the cooking, the other one does the cleaning.
Lunch: Whatever my toddler didn’t eat of his lunch
Blog Name: We’re a real family with real mistakes and real choices- so we’re “Grateful” for “Gummies” because they give us 35 seconds of peace.
Confession: Quite sure I broke a toe this morning when I slammed my foot accidentally into the baby’s bouncy seat.

  13. I am usually in charge of post dinner clean up. Most of the time the hubs cooks. But if I cook or if Im really tired he cleans 🙂

  14. I’m so guilty of changing my lunch plans when co-workers are getting something yummy (and probably unhealthy) to eat! I like the name of your blog and your sister’s!

  15. My kids are all grown up now and they are busy with their lives trying to make a mark in this world. So it is usually me and my hubby who take turns cooking and cleaning up afterwards. On days when it is just the two of us at home, we just order pizza or anything we fancy.

  16. That BBQ lunch looks delicious! I had a huge salad for lunch today. Usually, we do the post-dinner cleanup together – it’s much faster that way.
