Barbecuing in Los Banos

Good morning! I’m up and writing this without having had my coffee yet. So if things sound weird and words are misspelled, blame the lack of caffeine.

I’m currently eating this new-to-me flavor of Chobani and I am loving it. Try it if you haven’t already. I love the little pieces of coconut mixed into the yogurt.

Yesterday, we spent the whole day in Los Banos for a barbecue at Veronica’s sisters home. We started the afternoon off with some mai tais and stuffed peppers while the meat was cooking on the grill.

By the time I remembered to take a picture of the stuffed peppers, they didn’t look as pretty as they were originally displayed. But they were AMAZING. I’m going to try to recreate them at home using ground turkey.

I also got handed a shotglass at some point during the afternoon and, coincidentally, it had a beaver on it. Read this post if you want to know why a beaver shotglass made me really excited.

Veronica’s brother-in-law, Steve, invited his friends from work over and they each brought something to barbecue.

To say we were a bit full would be an understatement.

But Veronica’s nephew (AKA my new BFF) made me some s’mores so I couldn’t turn that down.

It was so fun to be able to spend time with people that are so important to her! And I can absolutely see why she loves them all so much.

Today, Veronica and I will be going to see some live music at the winery and the rest of the evening will be dedicated to food prep and general prep for the busy week ahead!
