I’m logging on late today because we were hustling around the kitchen for breakfast. And then hustling around the apartment getting Ishu ready to go back to school today.
The cough has not fully disappeared. But, like most kids, if we wait ’til the cough is completely gone, we’ll never end up sending him to school.
It was 4 degrees when we left the apartment to drop him off.
And in the negatives if you factor in the wind chill.
YIKES.
My mom and I chatted on the phone briefly this morning. And she told me that she randomly asked her Google Home what the weather in Chicago was and when she heard it, her first thought was, “WHERE DO MY CHILDREN LIVE?”
Ha.
California has spoiled us for sure.
But when I took off my coat after getting back from drop-off, I felt a teeny bit proud of how we’ve adapted to the winters here. As someone who was born and brought up – and spent most of their adult life – in California, I’ve been real impressed with myself.
All you native Midwesterners and east coasters are probs rolling your eyes at me.
BUT I DONT CARE, IM PROUD OF MYSELF.
Now, I’ve got some report writing, a workout class, and a lunch I didn’t have to make for myself (thanks, Mama!) on the agenda for today.
Hope you have a good one! What’s the weather like where you’re at?!

Okay well I’ll say it. I’m proud of you, too! Having spent most of my life in various parts of the northeast I can say that the winters can get BRUTAL. But this winter has been so mild and I’m actually jealous of your temps? Is that weird?? That feels weird to say out loud lol. I actually just want one snowstorm. Just one dammit!
But! I’ll say this. Getting a kid anywhere in the winter months is such a hassle. So many layers! I give you hella props bc that is so frigid. Awww poor ishu. I hope he gets over his cold quickly and seriously these things tend to linger so I’m hoping he’s powering through okay! You are an awesome momma. Just remember that!

Aw, I hope the cough goes away soon. That symptom likes to linger forever. Good job on braving the crazy Winters! I’m like Charlotte – I want at least one good snowstorm! LOL
