You know it’s going to be a pretty fantastic day when you get to go to work in a bear onesie. And it’s a Friday. And there’s a rainbow in the sky .
When I got out of my car, I was greeted by a lot of happy children. That were trying to pet my belly. And play with my bear ears.
I already think the children are adorable. But Pajama Day takes it to a whole new level.
Not to mention, I think I’m a better teacher in pajamas. Because I’m just so darn comfortable and cozy.
Amanda showed up as a polar bear. Our matching outfits were unplanned. But the kids got real excited because one of the books in their library was a book called, Who Would Win? Battle between polar bear and brown bear.
I had Snack Shack duties for a few hours. So I was knee deep in shaved ice and popcorn.
Do bears even have knees?
I also volunteered to be the Starbucks getter. Until I got out of my car and remembered what I was wearing. Oops.
Back at the Snack Shack, I continued to deliver snowcones to the children. I did not manage the cotton candy station because 1) I hate stickiness all over my hands and 2) there would be no cotton candy for the children because it would have all gone in my belly. I don’t even like cotton candy all that much. I just like that it melts on your tongue. It’s magical.
Meanwhile, there were pizza parties in the guided reading library for some super special students. And a super special bear.
And dance parties in the Learning Lab.
I tried to take ALL the pictures but, man, those TK kiddos don’t stop moving.
It was a beautiful day with so much fun. Snowball fights. Fake snow. Holiday movies. Decorating pinecones. What a special day – for both the kiddos and teachers.
After school, a few of us stayed after for a special snowcone party. And a fill-out-my-new-planner party.
In the evening, we drove to Salinas and got greeted with the fireplace on, Thai food out, and the Christmas tree lit. Which we just decided was going to be named Linus.
After we ate, out came the Dominoes. Duh.
And the chocolate chip cookies.
I love the weekend.
Have a good one!
Question of the Day:
- What do your PJs look like?
- Shaved ice? Cotton candy? Or popcorn? Or all of the above?

Too much happened in one day in the life of a brown bear. The polar bear was a cute one too!
Blessings to All during the Holiday Season!!
