Earlier this year, we started talking more about the months of the year with Ishu. Mostly to help him understand when his baby brother was going to get here.
So, ever since we first introduced it, it was a countdown ’til August.
And then it was a countdown ’til certain people visited.
Then a countdown ’til October 21st when he turned 3.5!
And then Halloween. And now he knows November is the month we fly to California to visit the family.
So, now, when he wants to know the date and how close we are to our departure date, he’ll scream out, “WHICH NOVEMBER IS IT?!”
It’s really the funniest thing and I’m not in a hurry to try to teach him how to ask, “What date is it?” Because I’m all about the “WHICH NOVEMBER IS IT?!” life. Ha.
He’s home today.
Another sick day for Ishu over here!
He’s got the same dang post-viral cough and it sounds so terrible.
I mean, you can hear this cough up and down the hallways of his school. So, y’know, it’s unavoidable. But I just want to keep him home and give him all the sleep and snuggles he needs.
We’re going to be spending lots of time doing some steaming in the bathroom. (We’ve placed the Lego table in there to keep him sitting for an extended period of time. Ha).
So, I’m right there with Ishu screaming, “WHICH NOVEMBER IS IT?” Because I’m just so dang ready to be near the family. It’s in moments like these – when our little ones so desperately need us – the desire to be near family is so so BIG.
Anyway, I’m going to be participating in the #onedayHH trend TODAY over on Instagram. It’s where thousands of people share what just ONE day of their life looks like. Hour by hour.
I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of pictures of us on the couch watching Ms. Rachel. Or in the bed snuggling up. But it seemed like a fun thing to join, especially because this is the reality for so many parents with sick kiddos.
Come join!
Have a good one! 🙂
