A few days ago, we picked Ishu up from school in the car because it was SO WINDY AND SO RAINY.
Ankur ran in while I stayed with the car.
They both ran out and when Ishu realized I was in the driver’s seat, he screamed, “MAMA, MAMA, MAMA, MAMA, MAMA I’M HAAAAAPPY TO SEE YOU.”
Heart. Melted.
He’s saying the cutest, funniest, most memorable things right now. So I’m using this post today to document the ones that I can remember. SO I DON’T FORGET.
Like last night.
We were all sitting in bed, right before bedtime, and playing around with words. He’s been really into noticing letters and pointing out words that start with the same sound.
“M-m-Ms. MARI,” I said.
“M-m-Ms. Mari. M-m-MAMA,” Ishu shouted with excitement. “DER THE SAME!”
“P-P-POOP,” I started.
“P-p-poop. P-p-PAPA!” he screamed with a big grin on his face. “DER THE SAME!”
Needless to say, it made us laugh so hard.
It’s like he really knows when he’s being a funny kid.
And, other times, he’s funny without even realizing WHY. Which is equally cute.
Like, this past weekend, at home, when he was watching Maya walk (!!!), he was coming down the stairs and cheering for her. “GO MAYA!!!! YOU’RE SUCH A BIG BOY!”
He’s just the most fun little kid to talk to right now. And, I know I say this every few months, but THIS feels like the most fun phase. I’m sure I’ll be back here in a year saying 3-year old Ishu is the most fun.
He’s just a fun kid, period.
I feel so lucky to be his mama.
