Happy Monday!
Can’t believe it rained all weekend long. The rain did not put a damper on our Friday night plans. We had a Happy Hour scheduled after work (I put a few “Happy Hours” on the calendar back in December and people stuck to this one despite the rain!).
The tots were worth the $15 parking + the walk in the rain. Oh, and I guess the company was pretty decent too. 😉
After happy hour, we continued the festivities at Wagon Wheel. I made sure the lady at the door stamped my arm TWICE because I wanted to make it very clear that I rallied on a Friday night. I made sure to wash AROUND the stamps. So the stamps were visible ALL weekend long.
We ended the night at Taco Bell. Because isn’t that what all the cool 20-year old kids do? (Except they end their night at 3AM. And I ended mine at 11PM. Whatever. I had TWO stamps).
Saturday:
I bundled up and went for a walk to try to forget that I ate a Quesarito the night before. (It didn’t work).
I discovered a small trail at the park across the street from my apartment complex. The only ones on the trail were me and the squirrels. Everyone else was scared of the rain.
Later in the afternoon, I drove over to Jen’s where the Brunch Bunch was reunited for another round of eggs and coconut pancakes. Post-brunch, we went to Picchetti Winery for a few hours. Because it’s way more fun to drink your wine outside while it’s raining.
And do yoga on the muddy grass.
(I like my version of yoga the best).
We got back to Jen’s place around 5PM and wanted to savor the last bits of sunlight for the day, so we bundled up and went for a walk around the park near her apartment.
The walk wasn’t very long. We got distracted by the monkey bars.
And our growling tummies. We got dressed and went to Downtown Campbell for some pizza at Blue Line.
After dinner, Jen and I went to the foot spa. Originally, we were planning on going out dancing somewhere. But, I went out Friday. And going out again on Saturday would just be a bender.
Sunday:
We went to Sanborn County Park for a rainy day hike. Note to self: I need to invest in some waterproof gear.
We were, again, the only ones on the trail because most people are afraid of water. Or pneumonia or something.
Which ended up working in our favor because it was so peaceful and quiet and PERFECT. (Also, we have a tendency to make up songs in the wilderness and I’m pretty sure that nobody else really wants – or needs – to hear our singing).
We only did a 2.5 mile hike and every part of our body was completely SOAKED by the time we got back to the car.
The rest of the day, we binge-watched Friends and did a little cooking. I drove to Fremont in the evening to have dinner with my family and, when I drove back, Jen had packed up all the food in little tuppers for me for the week! Love.
Now, I’m ready and rejuvenated for another work week. I’ve decided that my favorite weekends are the ones that I spend most of my time outside. Already looking forward to next weekend! It’ll be a 3-day one since we get Monday off for President’s Day! 🙂
Questions of the Day:
- What’s your favorite yoga pose?
- What’s on your menu this week?
Larissa says
Sounds like a blast! I don’t have a single favorite yoga pose; it really depends on the day. Pigeon and inversions are staples right now. On the menu is soup! Always soup in the winter.
