This morning I woke up around 6AM (unintentionally. Stupid internal clock). I was up earlier than the Farmers Market! So I made some Peanut Butter and Vanilla Oatmeal (unpictured. I was too eager to eat it) and enjoyed that along with some yummy blackberries from the Farmers Market yesterday.
I was getting antsy sitting inside…so around 7AM, I made my way towards Campbell where the Farmers Market was still setting up (I was two hours early, I know – how pathetic). I thought I’d hang out nearby, but I noticed that there were tons of people at the Campbell Community Center running around the track. I decided to pull in and see if I could do a quick workout before buying some veggies. I did a few warm-up laps and found this little kitty just chillin….
There were also some senior citizens rockin’ out to some jams (and by “rockin’ out,” I mean that they were doing breathing and stretching exercises to some peaceful, meditative soundtrack).
There was also a section of the track that I thought looked like a playground. As I got closer, I noticed they were actually exercise “machines.” They were made out of the same, colorful things that play structures are made out of (what is that anyway? Metal? Some form of plastic?). And, like Los Gatos Creek Trail, they had instructions on what the structures were for and how to properly use them. I love that NorCal allows for a gym, targeted workout outside.
I could only do a couple of these machines until I felt like I was about to fall over. My ovaries had had enough and wanted me to get to the nearest drugstore for some cramp pain reliever (I apologize to any of my male readers!). Now normally I tend to avoid medicine until it’s absolutely necessary. This is not the case when it comes to cramps. “I want Midol and I want it now” will probably always be my monthly motto. OK, that’s enough talk about that.
After CVS, I was craving another latte. The “adventure girl” came out in me and knew I’d probably enjoy something from somewhere other than Starbucks so I stopped at Barefoot Coffee in Campbell, CA. I was right. Their soy latte didn’t even need to be sweetened. It was also a really nice place to get some reading done since it was pretty early on a Sunday and most people allow themselves to sleep in!
I stayed there for about an hour and then made my way over to Campbell Farmer’s Market. It was definitely a lot bigger and better than the Saratoga one I went to yesterday, but I made sure I didn’t get crazy. I’m only here for one more day so I only wanted to buy a few veggies. But these looked so tempting:
Somehow I managed to escape with only two bellpeppers, some arugula, fresh soymilk, and tofu (<—- that’s actually a huge accomplishment for me.). I also bought myself a snacker from Flying Falafels. It was just a little pita pocket of falafels and all their veggies with some hummus and hot sauce:
I wanted to go explore some more but my tummy wasn’t having it. So, I went back to the apartment and rested for a few hours. I’ve finally mustered up the energy to get up and out. I’m currently at Pluto’s on Santana Row enjoying this delicious salad.
I’m probably going to head to the gym pre-dinner. I feel like I’ve been eating and sitting around all day without too much activity, so I need to do something to wake my body up! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday! =)

If you had to choose only 5 toppings to add to your salad, which ones would they be?

Please share your blackberries!!! I am from Oregon originally and used to pick them on the sides of the road. Now I live in Utah and they never seem ripe enough.

That’s amazing!! Someone was telling me the other day how they pick their own raspberries at their local farmers market – I want to pick my own fruit!

Loved meandering with you on a lazy Sunday morning.

Our raspberries (upstate NY) are ready now and U Pick blueberries will start this week. How I wish we had an exercise playground like the one you took pictures of. Salad toppings? Feta, cucumber, red pepper, whole wheat croutons, sunflower seeds.

Yum! All those toppings sound delicious!

All those berry photos made me hungry! Love the outdoor “gym”. There’s a similar one near where I used to live but not nearly as nice as the one in your photos.
