I’m typing this post up on Sunday evening as I’m watching The Oscars so I’ll keep it brief. I just wanted to get this post out before I fall asleep.
This weekend was quite the eventful one and I am feeling completely exhausted. But in a really good, productive way.
My family came to town this weekend so I took Friday off and had a nice, slow, leisurely morning with them. We went to the John Nicholas trail. It was moderate and covered – which made it Mama-approved. And there were a few streams along the trail as we made our way to the reservoir – which made it Papa-approved.
After our hike, we went to Google to visit Hemie. We ate lunch and then she gave us a nice lil tour of the campus. Including The Coffee Lab.
Since I’ve recently jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon, I enjoyed this mug the most.
We hung out for a bit after getting coffee.
Mom literally hung out. She fell off the hammock.
After we said our goodbyes, we drove to Salinas to see the Bajaj Jrs.
This little Junior in particular.
She’s so snuggly and teeny.
I still can’t wrap my head around the fact there’s another little one in the family.
And, though the plan was to leave after dinner, it’s always impossible to say goodbye. So we decided to have a sleepover and postpone the goodbyes until Saturday morning.
Saturday:
We woke up, fueled up with chai and cookies, and drove back to Campbell. We had some egg sammies from Bagel Guys to hold us over until lunch.
After breakfast, we went to buy some groceries for the D12. We also went to the gym (which was a huge accomplishment for me. I don’t remember the last time I’ve gone to the 24 Hr.)
After our workout, we started getting the apartment ready for our guests!
I absolutely LOVE this UCLA tradition. I love meeting other Bruins and hearing everyone’s stories. I went to a few dinners while I was in school and last year, Beth and I went to a D12 up in the bay. This weekend was the first time I’ve ever hosted a dinner and I loved it!
Sunday:
Sunday was lots of family time outdoors.
With a trip to Fresh Millions. Because, when in San Ramon, you just gotta.
Now I’m about to go lie down on the couch and watch the rest of The Oscars. (I’ll probably be passed out within seconds).
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!
Questions of the Day:
- Did you have an Oscar Party? What did you make to eat? [<–priorities]
