Wandering Weekend: SF, Oakland, and Campbell

WARNING: picture heavy post from this past weekend in the city – food, wine, and other adventures šŸ™‚

New Orleans styled iced-coffee. Can’t decide whether I like this better or Philz.
It’s art, I tell you.

And THEN we went to the cheese man. The cheese man contributed a lot to our happiness that day.

This contraption allowed the top of the wagon wheel cheese to be warmed on the top. Which would then make it all melty and gooey and delicious. And then he would tip it over and scrape off the melty, gooey deliciousness onto baguettes. Well worth the $5.95.
Long line. Still not sure whether it was worth it. But maybe it’s because I’m not the biggest fan of pork?
They placed the potatoes underneath the rotating chickens. And then the chicken grease and fat would fall on top of them. Making them delicious. But so heavy so we were only able to have 2-3 pieces each.
Poems for Donation. You can bet we stopped for some of that.

Can’t decide whether it’s complete BS or just beyond my mental capacity šŸ™‚
San Francisco Winery on Treasure Island. By accident. šŸ˜‰

For dinner, we ate in Old Oakland at a place called Tamarindo Antojeria. Delicious food – tapas style. But my favorite part was how they served their margaritas.

Margarita in a clay pot! Delicious.
Godiva in Emoryville. Making our way around the bay.

And then Sunday – anĀ actual day of relaxation. I didn’t stress about what needed to get done for work. I didn’t think about lesson plans (at least for a majority of the day). I went to the Campbell Farmers Market, stocked up on some goodies for the week, bought myself some books from the bookstore, and caught up on Glee. šŸ˜‰

The best tasting almond croissant you will ever have. Posting this picture just made me remember that I have 3/4 of this left in my glove compartment! I know what I’m having for breakfast!

There we go. A jam-packed weekend – equal parts relaxing and fun. And it makes it so much easier to return to work on Monday when I actually use the weekend for what it is meant for. Who would have thought?

Oh YEAH – and Giants going to the World Series!!!!! <—–that’s more of a, “I’m a NorCal native so I gotta represent” thing. Don’t get too offended. šŸ™‚

What adventures did you go on this weekend?Ā

What is your choice of “relaxation?”

And just for fun – if someone were to write a poem for you, what would you want it to be about? šŸ˜‰Ā
