Two months old.
Explain to me how.
Even though the day we brought you home from the hospital feels like EONS ago, it still feels surreal to me when I say we’ve got a 2-month old.
2 months feels like a lot of time. And also no time at all.
So much has changed between the smush you were last month and now.
So much has happened.
You got to meet your Nanu and Nani.
Your Sherene Mami and Arjun Mamu came to Chicago to visit and also met you when you were still a little squish. (You went on your first Architecture Tour. But it was your second time on a boat. First time was the water taxi on the way home from the Field Museum!).
You have come out of your “reverse blinking” stage and you are awake, alert, and ready to smile at whoever whenever. (As long as your belly is full).
You went to your first pumpkin patch. Well, pumpkin farm. Dressed in pumpkins. You pretty much slept the whole time.
You’ve gone to birthday parties, museum, parks, farmers markets. It’s a whole different life for you than it was for your Ishu Bhaiya when the world was shut down.
We bring you along to anything and everything. And, up until now, you’ve been a very chill, very go-with-the-flow kid. As long as you got your dudu, you’re pretty content.
You seem to already love books and when you’re sitting on mama’s godi and I open up a book, your eyes get wide and your arms start flailing. So I take it you’re going to be a book lover like your Bhaiya.
You love being rocked to sleep by your Papa. And waking up to Mama’s face.
You love when your Bhaiya gives you endless kisses and moves in real close saying, “I love you. I really love you so much.” (Up ’til a certain point and then you scrunch your face and – in your own way – tell him to give you some space. Ha).
You are really such a beautiful blessing and, even on the sleepy days and exhausting nights, we feel so lucky that you are a part of this family.
We love you forever, little guy.
