A week ago, someone asked me what I would be doing this summer. Last summer, Sister and I went to Turkey. This past Spring Break, the Budhraja clan took on Japan. (<—-yes, the rhyming was intentional).
So, I was very excited to answer that I would NOT be traveling extensively. Instead, I would be eating carrots and running 5 miles a day.
Turns out that the carrot/cardio combo only lasts for about 2 hours. And, after two days, I’m over it.
NOW, I’m deciding to take a proactive approach to my relaxation and reunion-izing.
I’m using the good ol’ Google Calendar during my month off. Didn’t think I would get so attached to this stupid thing. But it helps me stay on task. AND it helps me hack away at those nagging tasks that I have been putting off for….I dunno…6 years?!
My desktop hasn’t been clutter-free since 2003. (I’ve only had this computer since 2009, but I’m just loving this rhyming thing).
And I, for one, want to make sure that when I get back to work in August, that I’m 1) a little more relaxed, 2) a little less flabby, 3) a little more rejuvenated, and 4) a little less cluttered.
The Google Calendar is going to help me. I’m not anal. I, by no means, have a “Type A” personality. I just think that I’m going to need to clear some mental space – AND some hard drive space – to make me a better, more “Together Teacher” in the fall.
Wish me luck.
It’s hard work to have a month off.
I know.
Cue the eye-rolling.
Questions of the Day:
- What tool do you use to stay organized?
- Are you more spontaneous or do you like to “pencil things in?”
What tool do you use to stay organized? Google Calendar and Asana (task management) are my go-to. I also love a little notebook/pen action when I get sick of technology.
Are you more spontaneous or do you like to “pencil things in?” I like to do a little bit of both. It mostly depends on my school schedule but I would say that I lean more towards having a plan.
June 24th – A Very Special and Blessed Day for us that our precious daughter Divya came into our lives.
A Very Happy Birthday to you. God Bless with you many more Happy Healthy Prosperous Years.
Love You.
