Last night, my head hit the pillow at 9:15. And by 9:16, I was fast asleep. I love getting 8 hours of sleep. I feel like I’m a functional human – even before the coffee’s hit my system.
As usual, today’s post, like all Thursdays as of late, is dedicated to the things I’m currently loving. So let’s get going! Feel free to play along in the comments and share a few things you’re loving lately!

My Morning Commute
Every morning, after I finish publishing my blog post, I frantically run around the apartment, collecting things I need for work, finishing up breakfast, packing my lunch, and putting my self (somewhat) together. But the minute I’m in my car, all the chaos is behind me and, for 20 minutes, I’m in a calm, meditative state as I drive down 25E. It’s just me, the music, and this beautiful sky. Each and every morning. And I love it. -
Biggest Loser at Work
I’ve always read about people doing this with their co-workers but I’ve never personally done it before. And I’m so excited (and super motivated) to get going with this. For the past week and a half, I’ve been locked out of my Weight Watchers e-tools and, of course, I’ve been using it as an excuse to eat a couple extra bites at dinner and maybe some french fries. And pizza. And all the candy.
But it’s time to reel it back in and this is the perfect way to start. I also ended up talking to the most helpful WW employee who helped me log back into the online app. So no more excuses! -
Walks in the Park
Last night, Nicole, Katy, and I decided to skip the spin class we were planning on going to (based off of Monday’s review) and meet at the park to do running intervals. We did some combination of a BBG workout and running intervals but, after a few minutes, our arms hurt from the pavement and the grass was too itchy. We tried using the picnic table to do some of the workouts but, you know, splinters. So, we just finished it off by walking several laps around the park. Which was nice because it gave us time to chat about all the things. -
New Facebook Friends
Last night, Brenda sent me this message and it made me so giddy and happy. I don’t always know how to articulate myself in person without sounding silly and emotional so I tend to hold back my thoughts. But, in writing them down, I can somehow become a little more eloquent and thoughtful. I’m SO happy that she was able to see how much her class means to all us ladies. I don’t know if there has ever been a time in my life when I’ve looked forward to working out this hard. But I feel this way every Tuesday and Thursday evening. Thank you, Brenda, for showing us that working out CAN be so much more fun than dragging yourself to the gym every day!
Questions of the Day:
- How long is your morning commute?
- What is one thing you’re loving lately?

my morning commute from our cabin is 40 minutes, but when we stay in my apartment in town it is 3 minutes. I dont mind the long drive as it is scenic and beautiful 🙂

I’m so rubbish at working out! But you have some fun ideas to make it that little bit easier, like going with friends in the park – much better than gyming it alone with headphones! xo
Amber says
Oo the sky is really pretty! I’ve always wanted to try a spin class. I’d probably fall off the bike, but you know, I’d try!

I seriously miss the morning commutes of the US; living in Jeddah, KSA – our morning commutes are always so rushed and long! A drive that should only take 15minutes tops, takes an hour… I guess that comes with living in such a densely populated area. I’ve been doing spin classes for the past few months and I have really noticed that my endurance levels have increased dramatically; what major differences have you noticed?
Thanks for sharing

I work from home (recent change, like mere weeks) so my commute is about 14 stairs. It allows me to stay home with our two kiddos which is definitely what I’m loving (and stressing) each day! Love that you can find so many great things to share each day.

I love this. It’s so great to look at the good things in life and count your blessings. I am a stay at home mom so I don’t have a morning commute but, I do take my older boys to school every day and that is 10 minutes. I am loving this weather right now. The cold at night, so I can sleep better but, it still feels like summer during the day. So much to be grateful for.

My commute 4 days one week, 2 days the next is about 10 minutes. But what I love are the days I get to work at a gift shop at a log cabin tour. The cabins are all at least 150 years old and even the gift shop was built in 1880. I love the smell and the ambiance.

Despite the Atlanta traffic, sometimes I enjoy my morning commute as well. Especially my choice to make it a silent one or not. Kudos to you for keeping up with your fitness! It makes such a difference when you have people to motivate you as well! That response from the fitness instructor was very sweet. I’m sure that made you feel really good 🙂

Your commute view is so pretty! I go to work on back roads and if I go at the right time I get a really nice picture of the sun and a field with hay! So pretty!

Unfortunately, my health doesn’t allow me to drive much so I had to leave my law office job that required me to commute to work so now I just work from home. People complain a lot about LA traffic but I actually didn’t mind it too much…like you, I found it kind of relaxing. I would have my morning quiet time then and it would be so peaceful despite all the craziness happening outside the vehicle lol.

I have a 40 minute commute and I would love to try yoga. Anything you can do to get healthy works.
