Sometimes I wish teachers were forced to wear uniforms to school so that we wouldn’t have to waste 10 solid minutes in the morning trying on clothes, taking them off, throwing them on the floor, and then repeating that process 5 more times.
It would make my mornings much more enjoyable.
But, alas, I’m forced to use my brain before the coffee has kicked in.
Aside from the daily wardrobe battle, things aren’t all too shabby around here. I’m going to carry on with the theme of last Thursday’s post and share a few things I’ve been loving this week!

Halo Top Birthday Cake Ice Cream
For starters, there are rainbow colored sprinkles in this creamy goodness. How can you not love it? But then, to make things even better, it’s only 280 calories per pint (or 12 WW Smart Points). So, just in case you happen to finish the whole pint in one sitting, you don’t feel absolutely disgusted with yourself. I also bought the chocolate flavored one and the mint chocolate chip one. Both are good. But Birthday Cake’s got sprinkles. And I love me some sprinkles.

Ginormous Homemade Salads
This isn’t a new discovery. I’ve always been a fan of massive salads. But I think my appreciation has grown since moving to Harrogate. We haven’t gone out to eat too often, but when we do, the salads at restaurants are pretty pathetic. Which makes me love the salads I make at home. I throw all the ingredients into my large steel bowl, take my handheld chopper, and go to town shredding my salad to itty-bitty pieces.

Dollar Section at Target
We all know I’m Target obsessed. Most people are. It’s hard not to be. It’s also hard to walk past the dollar section at the front of the store without grabbing a few items. The last time I was there, I ended up picking up a couple things for the classroom including these random water capsule animals. You toss them in water and they grow 10 times the original size into an animal. As an adult, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I can’t even imagine what it would feel like to be 10 years old and watch this happen. So, in true teacher form, I’ve been bribing my kiddos all week long. When they work hard, I give them raffle tickets. On Friday, I pick one ticket from the jar. The person picked wins one capsule. (Each $1 package comes with 12 capsules. So my dollar goes a loooooooong way.)

“With Her” Podcast
Sister introduced me to this podcast. Of course. Sister is the queen of podcasts. Sometimes her recommendations aren’t my favorite. But, sometimes, they’re perfect. There are only two episodes of “With Her” out right now, but I love how they depict a side of Hillary (and Tim Kaine) that the media doesn’t always show. Makes them more personable and real.
Now it’s time for more coffee and breakfast – two things I’m always loving!
Feel free to play along in the comments and tell me what you’re loving today!
Questions of the Day:
- What’s your ice cream flavor of choice?
- What podcast are you currently listening to?
- What are you loving lately?

I love all kinds of ice cream. Halo Top is a great choice, and I have tried several of their flavors. I’m also a big fan of Arctic Zero. When all else fails, I get my ice cream fix by putting plain Greek yogurt in the freezer for about 20 minutes then add a few dark chocolate chips. Yum!!!

I’ve been wanting to try those Greek frozen yogurt drops that I’ve seen on Pinterest. Just putting dollops of Greek yogurt on a tray and freezing them! I feel like that’d be such a great snack! Especially in this heat.
