I’m gonna bring back the whole “Things I’m Loving Lately” thread that I used to write weekly a few years ago. (The last post I wrote like this was back in 2020!). 

With a toddler who is constantly doing the funniest, wackiest, silliest things – I want a place to document the cute things he says, the products we’re currently using and loving, and the fun experiences we have together. 

I used to create a fun graphic for this. And update it each week. But, that just feels hard for me. We’re going to stick to the simple blogging life over here. 

So, here we go. 

My 11-Year Anniversary

Yes, yes, Ankur and I just celebrated our 7-year wedding anniversary. But this one is almost as important! (MAYBE EVEN EQUALLY AS IMPORTANT?!).

MY BLOGIVERSARY!

11 years, this little site has been my companion. It’s gone through all the things. My latest fitness craze, my salad obsessions, my Subway phase, first year of teaching to my last year of teaching, my transition to school psychology, my becoming a mama.

It’s documented it all.

And I’m so grateful that, 11 years ago, I pushed “Publish” on that first post!

Checking the Packages These Days

All the packages shipped to us go into a locked room. And, in order to access the room, you have to input a code they text and e-mail to you. Well, Ishu’s new favorite thing is signing to enter the room.

Here he is forging my signature.

Apparently my signature is, “MAMA.”

Watching a “Movie” at the Playground

With us spending more time at the playground these days, I’m bringing a ton of snacks along with us. Last week, Ishu sat down to eat his snack and said, “I’m eating popcorn and watching a movie.”

“What’s the movie?” I asked.

“See out there? All those trees? That’s the movie, Mama,” he responded.

So, there we were. The two of us in the playground. Watching the nature-created, most beautiful movie ever with the sun beating down on us.

Love these quiet moments with him.

The Things Ishu Says

The other day, Ishu was playing teacher and trying to teach me how to pinch paper.

I did it just as he showed me. And he smiled at me and said, “Oooooh, wow, mama. That’s impressive.”

OKAY GROWN-UP.

And then a few minutes later, I found something of his that he was searching for.

And what did he say?

“GOOD EYE, MAMA.”

Who even is this 3-year old?

Our Mirabel Tonie

We, like everyone else, were SUPER into Encanto when it first came out. For months. Then there was a dip. But now that the Mirabel Tonie is out, we’re falling in love with it all over again. They start with all the music and then get into the story. They include the story in both Spanish and English. And with Ishu in a Spanish immersion class, he LOVES hearing the Spanish language. This is a definite win for us these days!

Anyway, there’s lots more we’re loving these days. But not enough time to write them all down. So, yes, wanted to bring this back to really highlight the fun things weekly.
