Back again for another Things I’m Loving post! I am currently cozied up next to the fire while the baby takes a nap. This morning felt so nice. The baby had a pretty decent night of sleep (I think it’s because he fell asleep on his belly!). We woke up and went for a walk to Starbucks. And then we came home and played by the Christmas tree while listening to Christmas music.
I’m usually the person that starts the holiday music immediately after Halloween so it’s crazy to me that I’ve waited until TODAY – December 11th – to get that music going. What’s gotten into me?
I’m blaming the baby.
So, yes, today, the thing I’m loving MOST is that Mariah Carey and Michael Buble are singing softly in the background. But here are a few other things I’m loving this week.
Custom Ornaments
As I mentioned in last week’s post, I love our annual ornament tradition. But I love – even more – when we can get a customized ornament from a small business! It was kind of a no-brainer that we had to get an ornament related to Ishaan. He’s the best part of our year!
Aidells Chicken Burgers
These are the burgers that got me through the final trimester of my pregnancy. When we moved to SoCal, I searched all the grocery stores – Pavilions, Target, Costco, Ralphs – to see if they sold this brand of burgers and we could never find them. When we visited San Ramon in early November, we found them at Safeway and made sure to stock up real good. I cleared out the shelves twice already and my freezer is nice and full of these things. I may have a slight obsession. But there are worse things to be obsessed with, y’know?
New Milestones!
Ishaan crawled for the first time on my mama’s birthday! My Nani wants it to be documented that it happened because he was so eager to reach HER cell phone. What a gift! Crawling on your Nani’s birthday so you could grab Bade Nani’s cell phone and shove it in your mouth. Look at my sweet Nani’s excited face in the background!
Nursing Nightgowns
I’ve been living in these dresses for the past couple months and I have no shame. I sleep in them, I go out in them, I lounge around in them. They’re so comfortable and so convenient and make this whole breastfeeding experience so much more manageable. I now officially have them in four different colors. It’d be more but I bought all the colors in my size, HA.
Baby Sign Language
I started using some signs with Ishaan the other day. Mostly just “milk” and “more.” He stares at me like I’m absolutely crazy, but I’ve heard that kids who start seeing those signs at 6-7 months of age will start signing back to their parents around 8 to 9 months. I mean, right now, his way of asking for more is grunting. So, kid gets his point across. But, it’d be nice to have him use some of these signs so he doesn’t get as frustrated!
Speaking of grunting, looks like our little guy needs some attention so I’m signing off for now. Hope you, like me, will be relaxing this weekend with holiday music and cozy fires and Christmas trees.
Questions of the Day:
- What is one thing you’re loving this week?
- How are you spending this weekend?
