Good morning from this sleep deprived human!
Not really. I just wake up to pee a whole heck of a lot.
But, fortunately, I plan for that. So I make sure bedtime is REAL early.
Anyway, I felt a little giddy after pushing “Publish” on my post yesterday because it reminded me of all those early mornings sitting on my living room couch, blogging before work.
I love this space so much. It feels like I can share ALL my ramblings here and not be confined to a limited number of characters.
Anyway, aside from loving on this blog right now, I’m bringing back the ol’ “Things I’m Loving Thursday” posts and sharing a few other things that I’m loving this week! (Holy cow. As I dig around in my archives, I’m realizing it’s been over two years since I’ve done a post like this. Excited to bring it back).
Feel free to join me and play along in the comments and share a few things you’re loving this week!
One Week Til Sister Gets Hitched!
In one week, these two will begin their wedding festivities and I, for one, am so excited. I’ve tried to opt out of anything wedding planning related because, if you remember from our wedding, it’s just not something I know how to do. But Sister has been working hard on all the details – big and small – for the past several months and I know it’s a day that both families have been looking forward to so much. And it’s almost here! I’m mostly excited to inherit an incredible brother-in-law. And to also see Sister so happy. Drew makes her giggly and happy and full of life and it makes my heart really warm and mushy.
The End of Out-of-State Rotations
Ankur has spent the first half of the school year doing away rotations all around the country. And they’re finally coming to an end! He’s finishing up a rotation in SoCal this month and then he’ll be back up here until the end of the school year and I am S-O happy that we are going to be living together again. I’m a better human when he’s around.
Winter Break Tennis
The Budhraja clan spent some time on the courts this winter break and, though I didn’t initially want to (because it’s been years since I’ve picked up a racket and I’ve completely forgotten how to do a forehand), I remembered just how fun it was to work up a sweat through sports. My workouts over the past few years have been more “work” and less “fun.” I mean, it’s not like I dread them. But I wouldn’t describe them as “fun.” Anyway, it was a nice little reminder that working out can be done in an exciting way and I want to do more of that this year.
Greta, our 2019 Christmas Tree
I am usually big on presenting our Christmas tree to the public (most years, even before Thanksgiving) and announcing the name we’ve chosen. But this year, it took us a while to come up with the name and Ankur gets full credit. Greta. Because she’s small but fierce. She’s still standing proud in our living room. And will, hopefully, stand proud until February 1st because #LongLiveChristmas.
Frozen Yogurt
If I had to summarize winter break in a word (or, in this case, two words), it’d be ‘frozen yogurt.’ I’m pretty sure we frequented both Menchies and Yogurtland at least 8 times total in the two weeks I was in SoCal. Ankur laughs when I tell people that this is one of my pregnancy cravings. Because this craving existed long before Baby Mathur was even a thought.
Baby Pictures
The great thing about a wedding coming up is that the good ol’ photo albums come out and there have been some real winners of Baby Divya. A lot of me screaming. And crying. And drinking a LOT of milk. (Where do you think these cheeks came from?)
Baby Bruin Gear
Sister got us these cutest onesies for Baby Mathur and I love that he’s already a proud Bruin. Heck, I can feel him doing the 8-clap in there some days! Sister apologized about not getting any Berkeley apparel (Ankur’s alma mater), but I’m a-okay with our kid being a Bruin.
Anyway, thanks for sticking around if you made it to the end. Please share all the things you’re loving in the comments below!
Questions of the Day:
Is your Christmas tree still up?
What are your favorite fro-yo toppings?
What are some things you’re loving this week?

Nice to hear from you!!! I do love frozen yogurt…yummmm. My Christmas tree IS still up. It’s fake, and not terribly big, so it’s fun having it up still.
Congrats to your sister – I’m sure the wedding will be loads of fun and it sounds like her guy is wonderful.

First things first, CONGRATULATIONS! I’m so so excited for you and Ankur and can’t wait to see the littlest babe <3 Also how are you sleeping lately? I'm getting up to pee a lot but have horrible insomnia and can't ever fall back to sleep. It's been rough but I am NOT complaining because I have waited for this for so long and things like this reassure me that little one is growing and healthy and mom will just have to deal for a few more weeks 🙂
Also I love your tree name! That's magnificent. Ours is still up too, but simply because I've been too lazy to take him down. Maybe tonight. Wah. It's sad when the living room feels so open and empty again.
Mmmm… Fro yo. I could TOTALLY go for a bowl of that right about now. Hope all is well and so happy for you guys <3 <3 <3
