On Sunday, Ankur and I sat down and set some intentions/goals for the week. (Mostly, I sat down and demanded that he play along so that I had someone holding me accountable.) One of the things we both wanted for this week was to get in a morning workout at least 3 times.
We went to the gym on Tuesday.
And today is #2.
So, as you read this, I am probably crying on an elliptical or attempting to do a plank. In any case, I would love a virtual pat-on-the-back. Because, according to personal experience, positive reinforcement works on adults too. I love words of affirmation. (But not as much as I love physical touch). <—- If you’re wondering why I’m crazy what I’m talking about, check out this book. You can find out what your ‘love language’ is!
And, as is tradition every Thursday, here is a round-up of a few other things I’m loving this week! Play along in the comments or drop your own posts in the link-up below! <3
__
1) YOU!
All of your comments on yesterday’s post made me feel so happy. You were all so kind and so thoughtful and supportive and you made me want to hug you and squish you all in real life. (Again, probably because I love physical touch oh-so-much!). But it was just another reminder why I love this blogging thing so much. The community you find in the blogosphere is a pretty special one.
2) Cauliflower Rice
This has been a big hit around here. Mainly because it’s a dump and devour recipe. But, one thing I’ve realized lately is that if you just add a LITTLE bit of brown rice (perhaps a cup or so?) to the pan and stir it up, it tastes like the WHOLE things made of rice. So it’s low(er) carb. But tastes like full carb. You’re welcome.
3) Millie Holloman’s Adoption Story on Instagram
Go check out her Instagram page, look at her photos, and read her stories. Make sure you grab some Kleenex. My heart exploded.
4) Game of Thrones Family Map
If you follow me on Snapchat (@eatteachblog), you may have already seen this piece of art. It’s a Game of Thrones family map. For sale. With names, dotted lines, and connections indicating how everyone is related. And, for a few dollars extra, you can get the artist behind the map (my husband dearest) to sit down next to you and ask you questions to make sure you’re really, truly following along. #WinterIsComing
5) Hillbilly Elegy
I know I’ve talked about this on the blog before, but I’m loving this book. According to the NY Times review, it offers a “compassionate, discerning sociological analysis of the white underclass that has helped drive the politics of rebellion, particularly the ascent of Donald J. Trump.”
Questions of the Day:
- What are you currently reading?
- Do you watch Game of Thrones?
- What is one thing you’re loving lately?

I am currently reading Harry Potter (again) with my 11 year old. I feel like I am the only adult on earth who hasn’t watched Game of Thrones. My husband binged watched the entire thing last year while I was asleep. Is it really worth it? I love cauliflower rice too – but my newest food find is muhammara – a middle-eastern spread of walnuts and red peppers. It has totally blown my mind. We had it at a Mediterranean restaurant last year and picked some up at an Armenian market in the city, but just found out my local Trader Joe’s has one – yum!
eatteachblog says
Ummmm, muhammara sounds amazing. It sounds like something I’d enjoy a LOT. I’m going to keep an eye out for it next time I’m at TJ’s. As for Game of Thrones, it’s totally worth it. I’m a girl who will watch a zillion Friends reruns, LOVES romantic comedies, and can’t stand any form of violence. Still, the plot is so intriguing. Just have your husband sit next to you and warn you before the scary parts!

Woo hoo on the working out! You can do it! I’ve never tried calliflower rice or I’ve also seen calliflower pizza crust, I would like to try it sometime!

Yes! I’ve only tried making cauliflower pizza crust once before and it didn’t hold as well as I wanted it to. I think because I’m a girl who LOVES my toppings and I don’t think the crust can support that level of heaviness. Haha.

I didn’t read your post yesterday, but I went to read it today, and you should definitely talk about whatever you want, whenever you want on your blog. 🙂 It’s cool to see that more people are interested in getting back to their blogging roots. I think that kind of stuff really does appeal to people.
That picture from Instagram makes me tear up without reading the story! I’ll have to go check it out.

I am looking forward to trying cauliflower rice. I eat a lot of brown rice but recently learned it may have a lot of arsenic and mercury so this new option is great timing. Hillbilly Elegy is on my list and I will be reading it soon. Perfect for me as a California girl who recently moved to Missouri.

Not a game of thrones fan myself, but I’m lovin’ everything else here. lolz Actually, the Cauliflower Rice sounds delish, I might have to make some.

I feel like cauliflower has been everywhere lately, but I just don’t like cauliflower. Maybe I can tolerate it if it’s all chopped up and mixed with some rice like you did it. Wish me luck.
