I missed out on doing a Fun Facts Friday because I spent the evening in Redwood City for a friend’s birthday. We went to Martin’s West on Main Street.
Greg and his wife, Salina, share the same birthweek so we celebrated with double the excitement. Greg and I used to work together last year (his classroom was right next to mine) and he was probably one of my favorite, favorite co-workers. So glad that I still get to see this bunch – even if it’s not as often as I used to!
So, since I missed a Fun Facts Friday, I thought I’d do a “Things I’m Loving Lately” post, since it’s been 3 months since my last one!
Here are some of the many things making me so happy this week! 🙂
Things I’m Loving Lately:
The fact that there is a Subway within walking distance from work is pretty fabulous. I may have gone there 4 times this week.
- My Polar FT4.
It is, quite possibly, the best present I’ve ever given myself. It helps me regulate my overall workout more effectively and is so easy to use.
- Browsing through old photo albums.
My sister’s been working on this ongoing project to organize my parent’s photo albums. She found some pretty hilarious pictures. Apparently I would get really upset every time the food was gone. Some things never change.
- Homecooked meals
My dinners this week have all been courtesy of my lovely mother – who will never let me get on a plane empty-handed. With a ton of saran wrap, and some extra layering, I was able to check in a bag full of food. I may have left some clothes back in SoCal, but it was totally worth it.
- Leaving work while it’s still light out
I’m trying really hard to make this work/life balance a real thing. This week, I was able to leave work by 5PM on Monday, Wednesday, AND Friday. Next week, I’m aiming for 4 days of the week.
- Google Hangouts with my fam
Today was my baby brother, Arjun’s, birthday. The 9 of us may be miles away from each other, but it’s always nice to have opportunities like this to “hangout” together. Today was extra special because we got to celebrate his birth and watch his reaction as we presented him with season tickets to all the Mets games.
Happy birthday, baby brother. You are the #1 thing that I’m loving lately! 🙂 Love you SO much!!

Technology is such a wonderful thing! While a lot of people think it makes us far less social, it actually HELPS bring people together 🙂

Right! I just have a tendency to overuse and need to learn how to better disconnect! Family Google hangouts are acceptable though! 😉

Today I’m loving the sunshine! It’s been too long. I’m also appreciating leaving work while it’s still light out.

My Mum always does the same. Everytime I drive over for a visit she sends me back with my car filled with fresh bread, cheese, a homemade cake and produce from the garden. Very definitely a Mum-thing!
