Good morning and happy Monday! It’s the final week of school, so this week is jam-packed with all the evaluation meetings we need to hold before the end of school year.
It’s going to be a busy one!
I spent a lot of time finishing up reports this weekend. But, we also managed to get out and take advantage of the good weather.
On Saturday, we went and had popsicles in the park with the other kids and families in the neighborhood. After nap time, we had a delivery of all our new books from ThriftBooks (thank you, Auntie Jessie!). So we tore into the package and read them all. Velveteen Rabbit, How do Dinosaurs Say I love You, Llama Llama is Mad at Mama, and The Tiny Seed.
We’ve got more on the way, coming this week. I am never buying new books again.
Sunday, we went to Cheesecake Factory for brunch. I made a reservation earlier because we had a gift card and I thought it was Father’s Day. Ha. I thought I was being so efficient and thoughtful all at the same time.
Only to find out it wasn’t Father’s Day. Whoops.
We still went. And celebrated a week early.
When we got home, Ishu went down for a nap and Ankur and I got some work done. And then, when he got up, Ishu and I packed a picnic and walked over to Lakeshore East Park while Ankur stayed home to work on a presentation for this week.
The weather was SO GOOD. SO, SO GOOD. It basically took all my self-control as an adult to stand firm about our 5:30 leave time. Because it was still so nice when we packed up to leave.
But the mom-in-me knew that we needed to get home before the tiredness took over and made him a crankypants.
Ankur gave Ishu a bath, I made a pan of enchiladas for dinner (and lunch today), and we all went to bed at a normal, decent time.
Which is good cause I’m gonna need all the rest to tackle this week ahead!
Hope you, too, had a wonderful weekend with THE SUNSHINE!
