My sweet friend, Jenn, texted me this reminder last night right as I needed it.
I was in the middle of making pizza when I got the text. And immediately put my phone down, scooped up my firstborn baby, and he just melted into my arms.
As if we both just needed the nudge to stop what we were doing, pause for a moment, and embrace.
So, some memories from the last day before two kids.
We walked over to the hospital so Dadi and Ishu could know how to get there when they come visit us. Ishu pushed the stroller the whole way, practicing all his big brother skills. We stopped at Stan’s Donuts and Ishu got a pink sprinkled cookie. Stopped over at Whole Foods to pick up a few items for dinner. Made a pit-stop at the park to see some of Ankur’s co-workers doing meringue on the grass. Did some dancing and twirling and running around with Ishu.
We made pizza and salad for dinner. Talked to Papa on the phone and Ravi Papa on the Portal. Had Winnie the Pooh playing in the background on the Toniebox. Ishu was driving around on his firetruck (a gift from baby brother).
So many snuggles and kisses. What was supposed to be an early bedtime ending up being a 9:30pm bedtime because we all just wanted to prolong the time together.
And, in true Divya sentimental fashion, Ishu slept in our bed last night. Because, yeah, we’ve spent the last month and a half getting him used to his own little bed, but LISTEN. I NEEDED TO SLEEP BY MY CHILD.
And now? Now we wait. The bag is packed. The food has been had. Ishu’s schedule has been written out.
I probably have time to squeeze in 2340234 more kisses. So I guess that’s where I’ll be for the next few hours. See you on the other side 🙂
