Ankur was the resident on call yesterday so he had to stay at the rehab center overnight. He has these shifts every couple weeks and then, when he gets back home in the morning, he has the rest of the day off.
So it’s not too bad.
We’re both eagerly waiting for Ankur right now. Excited to have him to ourselves the rest of the day. (He had to go into work on Sunday, so it feels like we were gypped over the weekend. It’s payback today!).
Every morning before a ROC-shift, he packs his green bag. He packs overnight clothes and his pillow (because I guess the ones in the call room aren’t that comfy).
And, every time he pulls out his bag, he does the whole spiel. The waving around of his little square, the slowly unzipping of the square and then the eyes widening when it unfolds into a duffel bag. (You’re gonna have to click the link above to fully understand what I’m talking about).
Anyway, Ishu was awake when he was leaving yesterday. So both the boys in my life did their dramatic expressions when the square turned into a bag. Every time Ishu sees the bag, he screams, “GEEEEEN BAAAAAAGH.”
I pretended to roll my eyes at the whole act. But, secretly, I’m so happy I have two guys in my life who take pleasure in the tiniest of things.
