I’ve officially started the “banana bag.”
The bag that lives in our freezer with entire bananas (or some with a single bite taken out of ’em). Because Ishu demanded a banana, promised he’d eat a banana, and then took a bite and decided he was over the banana.
TODDLERS.
GAH.
Yesterday, I was on my computer and heard him waking up in the other room. Ankur reached him first, so I stayed put. But I could hear him asking for Mama repeatedly.
So I walked into the room and put my hands out to take him from Ankur’s arms.
He threw his head back and screamed, “NOOOOOOOO!!!!!”
Apparently, he wanted mama but only if mama was in the living room. He wanted to be taken to mama in the living room. He did not want mama to come into the bedroom.
His other favorite thing to do these days is scream, “I WANT TO DO IT FROM THE BEGINNING,” any time you’ve done something he wanted to do.
Like, for example, that day that I was so terrible and carried his plate from the kitchen to the dining table so he could sit and eat his breakfast.
He screamed, fell on the floor, and cried, “FROM THE BEGINNING.” And then, after the tantrum, proceeded to walk over to the table, pick up his plate, take it to the kitchen, and put it BACK on the kitchen counter for one second. And then picked it up and brought it back over to the dining table.
From the beginning.
Banana bags.
All of it is gonna make me lose my mind I think.
How can this human go from being SO FREAKING ADORABLE and EVERYTHING I LOVE AND CHERISH in one second to being an absolute terror and making me question ALL MY LIFE CHOICES in the next second?
Please.
Explain to me.
Sandhya says
