I know I have a tendency to get a little overboard when I talk about Rocketship.
And I know it’s probably a bit annoying to the non-Rocketeer.
So, I apologize in advance for this post, but I’m just extremely thankful to be working here at this time in my life.
I’m thankful to have co-workers who bring a little joy into our hectic weeks in the form of soup.
I am thankful to get to work with people who find creative ways to ensure that our kids are retaining their site words.
I am thankful to be surrounded by teachers who are able to take a step back from the curriculum and notice what it is that their students need in that moment.
I am thankful for opportunities to simply PLAY with the kids. Because, in the midst of our rigorous instruction and high expectations, it helps remind me that they ARE just kids.
I am thankful for coaching that has made me a stronger educator this year.
I am thankful for inclusion – watching ALL students benefit from this model has been eye-opening and thought-provoking.
When 5PM hits and the exhaustion sets in, I reflect on all these things and remind myself that there is nowhere else I would rather be right now.
