I don’t think I’ve mentioned it on the blog because I’m so inconsistent about keeping tabs on my life. But I’ve been participating as an “ambassador” for the #healthysELF challenge created by Lindsay and Elle. It was a continuation of the #Elf4Health challenge that started during the holidays. Everyone seemed to love the daily challenges and wanted to continue the support and check-ins to stay motivated! Today’s challenge is to write down a list of things you’re thankful for. SO, HERE WE GO! 🙂
1) My family. This goes without saying most of the time. But, with all that’s gone on in the last few weeks, I’m especially feeling the gratitude right now.
2) My students. Like I said before, they are the reason I continue to deal with the flaws in our system. Because they’re worth it. And they make me so ridiculously happy every morning when they walk in.
4) Sunday Food Prep. I feel so much more satisfied and proud of the healthy choices I make. And all it takes is a couple hours on Sunday to get it together.
5) Parents that get it. I am NOT out to ruin your child’s life. I am NOT going to choose a class for your child or suggest services for your child if I don’t have your child’s best interest at heart. I am so passionate about what I do. I advocate so damn hard for these kids. If I forget to e-mail you back, I am not trying to screw you over. I am not trying to be sneaky about anything. I’m just trying to get my head on straight. But I care about your child. And I am grateful for the parents that understand that.
6) Spring is coming! I can feel it!
7) Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp. Unfortunately, the program just ended. But Round 5 starts on April 1st and registration starts today!
8) The 8th Grade Yosemite Trip. It’s coming up next week! I need some quality time with Mother Nature!
There are more. So much more. So thankful for the little things that make my day so much brighter…
- My morning cup of coffee
- My recently-purchased hair straightener (Thanks Sister!)
- The smell of my Bath&Body Works lotion every morning
- The taste of a glass of wine after a long week of work
- Buying flowers for no other reason than “because they’re pretty.”
- The fact that I can hear children playing baseball and riding around on their scooters when I get home from work.
- The packages my mom sends (because she includes anything she can get her hands on at that moment – can’t let empty space go to waste! It’s a pre-purchased box!)
- The Pitch Perfect soundtrack. I’m a sucker for all things a capella.
- The Biggest Loser. Anyone else cheering for Danni all the way?!
- This blogging and Twitter community. I can’t believe I had to convince my co-worker that there is more to Twitter than just celebrity gossip.

AMEN to the parent comment! Some of them get so fed up when you don’t respond right away, and I’m thinking, “Wouldn’t you want me teaching your child rather than sitting on my computer ready to e-mail you back all day?”
I LOVE focusing on little things to be thankful for! One of mine is the instant feeling of relaxation I get when I plop down on the couch. So great!

Gossip columnists have a reciprocal relationship with the celebrities whose private lives are splashed about in the gossip column’s pages. Of course, some gossip columnists can engage in borderline defamatory conduct, spreading innuendo about alleged immoral or illegal conduct that can injure celebrities’ reputations. Yet at the same time, gossip columnists are also an important part of the “Star System” publicity machine that turns movie actors and musicians into celebrities and superstars that are the objects of the public’s obsessive attention and interest…

While people may gain celebrity status as a result of a successful career in a particular field (primarily in the areas pertaining towards sports and entertainment), in other cases, people become celebrities due to media attention for their extravagant lifestyle or wealth (as in the case of a socialite); for their connection to a famous person (as in the case of a relative of a famous person); or even for their misdeeds (as in the case of a well-known criminal). Celebrities may be known around the world (e.g., pop stars and film actors), within a specific country (e.g., a top Australian rugby player); or within a region (e.g., a local television news anchor).:
