I’ve been wanting to keep a little notebook by the bed so that every morning, I can document the first thing out of Ishu’s mouth.
We’ve heard everything from, “I want a bowl of jellybeans for breakfast” to “I had a dream that a spider kissed me on my legs.”
This morning, it was, “Mama, is there a T-Rex in the house???”
I so wish I could be in his brain. Just for a little bit.
The papa-kiddo duo just left to start their day. I’m finishing off breakfast and typing this up before I do my PT exercises.
Yesterday was my second day of PT. I’ve never done any sort of physical therapy before so it’s the first time I’ve seen what that looks like. For me and for some of the other patients having sessions at the same time as me.
As I was sitting in the waiting room, I could feel my emotions bubbling to the surface watching all the PTs and OTs – and even a speech therapist – interact with their patients.
It’s emotional.
Watching these people improve the quality of life for so many humans.
I also have the advantage of being a patient at the facility where Ankur works at. And it’s the first time I’ve been able to see the inside of his building. And, well, I was always proud of the work my husband – and all of his colleagues – did before. But I’m feeling a little extra this week.
Anyway, I vowed to be a good PT patient so I’m going to sign off and do some exercises before my day officially starts.
Hope you all have a happy day and if you know someone providing therapy in ANY CAPACITY, please give them a big squish and a hug. They’re doing real great things.
