And, after all the hustle and bustle that has been the past few days, the apartment is absolutely quiet right now. I mean, it’s temporary. Because Ishu is going to wake up in soon and liven things up a bit.
But, his Dadi and Babaji and Chacha left yesterday. And it feels weird and a little lonely without them.
Ishu tried to crawl into his Dadi’s suitcase yesterday morning as if he was demanding her to take him with them.
Sorry, bud. Your mama would miss you too hard.
We’ll see them in a few months. But, regardless, it’s always a teary-eyed goodbye.
Ishu had fallen asleep on the drive to the airport. But before his Dadi got out, she rubbed his face, gave him kisses, and did all the sweet things you do when you’re a grandma and you want your grandbaby to wake up to smother him with all the love.
His eyes popped open for a brief second. He pointed up in the air and said, “Dada!” And then he fell back asleep.
Ishu still doesn’t really understand it all. He came back home and walked around the place saying, “Dada. Ba. Tha Tha,” looking for all three of them.
He was really happy when we got to FaceTime with them when they landed back in Oakland.
We also spent a few hours with Nikku Chacha before his flight took off. We went to a lake near the airport, where we got to see ducks (and Ishu quack quack quacked!). It was also fun to see the planes taking off right over our heads. Eventually, Ishu needed a diaper change so we needed to walk back to the car. We decided to head out and grab lunch before heading to the airport.
Nikku found a Culver’s nearby so we went inside, ordered food, and pulled up a high chair for Ishu. (We’ve sat in quite a few of them now since his first experience and I love having him join us at the table, no matter where we go!).
Ishu basically ate ketchup for lunch. And then proceeded to entertain himself with the straw and lid for the entire time we were there.
He’s like walking entertainment for us constantly. This age is so fun and it’s so exciting to watch him learn how to access the things around him.
Now we’re on our own for today, but we’re going to have some special visitors tomorrow and through the weekend! We’re loving all the family visits. Let’s keep ’em coming!

Aw, I’m sure it’s tough saying goodbye, but that’s good you’ll still them in a few months. Sounds like you had a lovely visit!
