We took a day off yesterday. And by "day off," I mean we decided not to send Ishu to school because we went to the aquarium instead.

I'm taking advantage of this last and final year where I can do things like that. Just decide not to send him to school because I wanna be with him or do a fun thing with him.

Shedd was doing one of their "Free for IL Residents" days and we hopped on over there shortly after it opened to beat the crowds. It was our first time there since they renovated the place and, man oh man, it's had me questioning whether I should renew our lapsed membership....

Good morning and happy Friday!

I don't know how we're already nearing the end of January. I'm still over here trying to figure out what my new year goals are gonna be. Ha.

Why does life feel like IT'S FLYING BY?!

Still, I'm patting myself on the back for brushing my teeth, brushing my hair, and putting SPF on my face this morning. Maybe that can be the goal this year. Just brush my teeth before 3pm? Throw on some SPF every once in a while. It's more than I've been able to keep up with for the past four years....

Good morning!

I probably don't have much time before one of the kids wake up so this'll be a quick photo dump of the past couple of days.

It's cold. Freezing. And yet life goes on. There are birthday parties to go to, pizza clubs to attend, friends to visit with, and kiddos who have endless energy and need time outdoors (despite the below freezing temps).

Though, I will say.

Ishu's school is in session today even though it's MLK Day. I was debating whether or not I wanted to keep him home since it's holiday programming....

We are three months away from having a 5-year old

We are three months away from having a 5-year old and I can't understand how.

Ishu is one of the coolest, most curious, most entertaining kids I've ever met.

Yes, there are a lot of moments of complete exasperation and exhaustion. But, also, sometimes I look at him and wonder how the heck we made such an interesting human.

He's also four.

So he bounces around a lot.

Physically and verbally and mentally.

The other day, while waiting for dinner to be ready, he looked over at the TV and saw the California wildfires....
