Sunday nights and early Monday mornings are a stressful time for me. No, it does not mean I hate my job and have no desire to go to work. I just never feel prepared enough and always feel like I need more time to prep for the week. But around 7:45AM, my students start strolling into my room. And that feeling of anxiety just disappears.
I love them. They are the reason I put up with all the other crap that comes along with this profession. The other crap is not going to push me away. Because they’re worth staying here for.

What was the highlight of YOUR Monday?
Highlight of MY Day:
A few of my students walked into my class early this morning and I was overly excited to see them and said, “IT’S SO NICE TO SEE YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACES.” And, of course, my Little Miss Attitude student responds with, “Ms. B – I am not beautiful. I am GORGEOUS.”

well put, Divya! I’m a high school choir teacher. there are SO MANY DAYS when I feel so unprepared for the day because of all the other crap that comes with the job, but when I’m in the moment making music with my students, it’s worth all the unpleasant stuff that our jobs entail sometimes.

Right? Sometimes I just wish I could shut my classroom door and not deal with anything else but my kids! 🙂

I LOVE this! You are so right — we aren’t in it for all the junk and crap – we are there for the kids and they are what makes our job so amazing!! 🙂

That student of yours Miss Attitude sounds hilarious. I’m glad you’re a teacher! I couldn’t do it!
